He once strongly opposed his lover's participation in the activities of Happy Family and suspected that Happy Family was a pyramid scheme. However, after seven days of study, he saw the real efforts made by happy families in the education of rural children, and also saw his own growth.

Teacher Ma: My name is Ma Haishen. I am a high school teacher in Lingbi Middle School in Anhui Province, and I am the head teacher who teaches history.

Dafu: Are there many left-behind children in your class?
Teacher Ma: Most children in the class are left-behind children. There are 55 students in our class, 47 of whom are left-behind children. Almost all children are separated from their parents when they are two or three years old, and some children are separated from their parents immediately after weaning for half a year.

Dafu: What do you think is the difference between the left-behind children in the class and those whose parents are around?
Teacher Ma: The difference is that these children who have been separated from their parents since childhood are relatively withdrawn and inferior, and have obstacles in communicating with others.
For example, there is a left-behind child and a boy in my class. He hardly communicates with other students. When he comes to class, he will lie prone on his desk or study alone, or be in a daze, and even pay little attention to his deskmate!
When the teacher asked him to answer questions in class, he always kept his head down and said nothing. Even when he speaks, his voice is too small to be heard clearly.
When the teacher talked to him, he kept his head down and never opened his heart to the teacher.
In fact, these children really need adults to give them spiritual guidance and care!

Dafu: Then how do you usually give psychological counseling to these children so that they can feel your concern?
Teacher Ma: Take the child I mentioned above as an example. Before the winter vacation last year, I took my children to Beijing to participate in a training activity held in Tsinghua University.
One day, in a restaurant in Tsinghua, the child accidentally burned his hand by a bowl of hot porridge.
After discovering this situation, I immediately found cold water to wash him repeatedly, then settled him down, braved the winter rain, ran a few miles to buy him scald medicine, and later took a taxi to beijing jishuitan hospital to give him comprehensive treatment. By the time it's over, it's already 1 1: 30 at night.
The child's heart is actually very sensitive. When he sees your kindness to him, keep it in mind!
Perhaps this incident made him feel the care from adults, because he rarely felt such care from his parents, so he opened his heart. We talked for nearly two hours that night, which was also an important opportunity for me to give him psychological counseling.
This incident also made me realize that many things are not immutable, but whether we are willing to find suitable opportunities and ways to influence these children.

Dafu: Then why did you come to Happy Family Heart Care Training Camp?
Teacher Ma: Actually, I am quite disgusted with your activities, and even think it is a pyramid scheme. Because my wife is so enthusiastic about the love project of a happy family, I wonder if she has been brainwashed by pyramid schemes!
Some time ago, my wife and I had a little conflict. I didn't understand her passion for heart nurses, and she didn't understand my dedication to work, so we had a big fight.
After the quarrel, it turned out that she signed me up for our heart care training camp this time.
It is precisely because of participating in this activity that we have enhanced our mutual understanding and made our husband-wife relationship more harmonious and our family more harmonious, so I am very grateful to her for giving me the training of this heart nurse.

Dafu: What do you think is the difference between the training of Happy Family Heart Care Training Camp and the training you have attended before?
Teacher Ma: The biggest difference is that we have fully experienced the "situational teaching" mode. For example, every time we talk about a boring theory, the tutor always uses a series of activities to get us involved and understand with our own feelings.
This is more conducive to our acceptance and growth. A series of activities let learners take the initiative to participate and stimulate their inner feelings. That's all that matters.
