Bagua Building, built in the 23rd year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1907), located at No.43 Gu Xin Road, is an outstanding representative of Gulangyu architecture and one of its landmark buildings. The original owner of Bagua Building is Lin Heshou of Lin's third room in Banqiao, Taiwan Province, and Lin's second family, the owner of Longzhuang Garden, are cousins. The Bagua Building was designed by Dr. John Abraham Otte, president of the Dutch-American Salvation Hospital, and construction started on 1907. 1920 Lin's assets were dragged down by the building because of the cost overrun of the project. Lin Heshou went overseas, drifted to Taiwan Province Island and never returned to Gulangyu Island. 1924, the Japanese consulate came forward to design, cover the ceiling, mow the lawn, and set up the "Xu Ying Academy Branch" in Bagua Building. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the Kuomintang government took over with "Japanese puppet property". The dome of the Bagua Pagoda directly imitates the stone dome of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palestine, the oldest Islamic building in the world. These 82 pillars refer to the pillars of Hella, the Greek goddess in the 5th century A.D. Liang Shi and lines between the pillars can be seen from the Hephaestus Temple in Athens Square, Greece. The cruciform passage originated in Greece and was later used in Roman churches. The exterior of the building is the Tashkent column gallery in ancient Rome. The whole building of Bagua Building is magnificent and exudes a rational aesthetic feeling, but it is a sad tragedy for Lin Heshou.

On the roof of Jingualou Building, there are two golden "Jingualou Building" in orange. The edges of Bagua are very prominent, and the algae flying out of the edges are charming and delicate under the blue sky. The decoration of the building is also exquisite and full of personality. All the beams and columns are carved with flowers, birds, insects and fish, which are very lively and reveal rococo elements. Combined with the traditional architectural concept of China, the European style and local culture are more beautiful. The whole building has many colonnade columns, carved from a whole piece of granite, which has the charm of ancient Rome. This stigma is mostly the Taurik column in ancient Greece. The facade of the building is set off by large columns and arches, and the periphery is supported by small columns. There are different design methods for window architecture, such as half-moon, straight line and curved line. The platform hook fence is decorated with cement carving and steel flowers, and there is a grape trellis on the roof. The parapet has the modern architectural style of China. 6. Yi Mountain Villa
Yizu Villa was built in the 1920s for Xu Jian, an overseas Chinese in Tong 'an, Vietnam. The gatehouse is composed of many large and small shield reliefs, countless flowers and Greek columns, which is extremely beautiful. Entering the main building from the gatehouse, you can see a European-style zhaobi, stepping on the carved stone steps as a transition, and the low wall is embossed with branches, as if telling a story that you want to rest.
The villa is supported by four pillars, with prominent double-arch window covers and recessed wall columns at corners, forming a rhythmic appearance. The right side of the main house is designed as an exquisite traditional courtyard in China, with a winding path leading to a secluded place and a double-eaved octagonal pavilion at the radial end for leisure viewing. There is a deep well in the hospital, with a well room on the well and a washbasin near the well, and water intake equipment is readily available.
It is said that Xu Jian has many children, and later a family villa was given to his sixteenth daughter as a dowry. Things have changed in the past 70 years. There are also flying banyan trees, which are firmly rooted in the gates of Europe. It was not until it was rented out in 2004 that it was redecorated. The original door had to be sawed off with the banyan tree. Above the high wall is a modern camera, protected by plastic steel windows, which is convenient for the host, but it is a pity for the spectators.
