Do middle school students take care of children, carry dishes and mow lawns to earn pocket money?
They are different!
In Chicago, Saatchi, who was only 15 years old, started a business with his classmates and printed images on cloth backpacks. Each bag conveyed unique information. The cloth backpacks checked in the store sell well, and they have planned to open more sales points. Another group of Saatchi's classmates, at the same age, found it difficult to park near the school, developed an APP to help residents with taxi lanes, garage parking spaces, media contracts and parents' parking needs when there were activities at the school, and won 1 1 000 US dollars in the middle school students' entrepreneurship competitions in Illinois and Indiana.
Both teams are from the entrepreneurship class of New Trier High School near Chicago. In class, they think about people's needs and pain points in life, propose solutions and make a complete business plan. In this process, we have to experience many questions and challenges from teachers, real business owners and entrepreneurs, how to compete with others in the market, and estimate the future growth model and related financial figures. Just like NBC's high-rated program Shark Tank, answer all kinds of questions about business plans and compete to represent the school in competitions, bonuses or investment funds.
In addition to entrepreneurship courses, New Trier High School also offers an introductory business course, which also allows students to make their own business plans, from which they can learn and apply the knowledge of business operation and management. In addition, there are case studies to simulate and help existing well-known enterprises to make plans to develop new products and markets, from the establishment of supply chain, production to sales, and complete the value chain of enterprises.
