Eight methods of English teaching in primary schools
Lead: Primary school English is the stage of laying the foundation for the future, and primary school students have strong language learning ability. The new curriculum standard clearly points out that the task of primary school English curriculum is to stimulate and cultivate students' interest in learning English, so that students can establish self-confidence, form good study habits and effective learning strategies, develop autonomous learning ability and cooperative spirit, and emphasize that students' learning at school is mainly to "learn to learn" and create conditions for truly realizing lifelong learning.

Eight teaching methods of primary school English 1, communicative approach;

It is a systematic teaching method to cultivate students' communicative competence according to their thoughts and communicative functions. Its purpose is to enable students to communicate in language, and it is important for students to consider the role and status of the people who communicate with each other and the topics and situations involved, so as to use the language properly.

From the characteristics of physical and mental development of primary school students, they are in the primary stage of language acquisition, with strong imitation ability, active curiosity and the easiest excitement and activity. Therefore, the application of communicative approach in English teaching in primary schools will make English learning easy and interesting, and make English classes "colorful".

2. Game teaching method:

Review words and sentence patterns in the form of games and practice new language points, so that students can enjoy learning in a lively, relaxed and pleasant atmosphere and naturally acquire English knowledge and skills. Game teaching method has the following characteristics: stimulating students' interest in learning English; Changing the classroom roles of teachers and students to reduce their burden; This is beneficial to students' physical and mental development. The design principles of game teaching method are: the design of game should be interesting, purposeful, competitive and hierarchical; The design of the game should be flexible: the design of the game should be regular.

3. Situational teaching method:

Situation is a life situation created or simulated by teachers, which should be true, vivid and practical, so as to help students express and communicate the language materials they have learned comprehensively and creatively. This practice method has the communicative function close to life, and can turn monotonous and mechanical sentence pattern practice into lively communicative practice. Situational teaching method can effectively stimulate students' strong interest and desire in learning English, because situational teaching method provides students with specific life scenes, so that students have the opportunity to contact life, feel life, understand life and discuss life. For students who speak Chinese, this feeling is strange, but fresh. And freshness is the inner vitality to stimulate the desire for knowledge.

Therefore, they can take an active part in language practice with interest, and get improved in their participation. Situational teaching method can also teach students language knowledge vividly and firmly. Situational teaching method can make the teaching content vivid and practical, and give students the opportunity to closely link book knowledge with real life and learn language knowledge in casual and relaxed language exchange. Situational teaching method has better teaching effect than traditional classroom teaching.

Situational teaching method can always provide students with an active language application environment. It can not only train students' basic language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, but also help students understand and master the teaching content effectively and timely, with twice the result with half the effort. However, the traditional teaching method is "spoon-feeding" teaching by teachers, and students only copy and memorize mechanically, resulting in not only "deaf-mute English", but also a learning effect with half the effort.

4, activity teaching method:

It is to design and arrange situations according to the different stages of students' physical and mental development, and provide materials for students to actively participate in free operation, observation and thinking. Let students know things, find problems, get answers and explore students' potential through activities. In the process of teaching, teachers can take different activities according to the content of teaching, the age of students and the existing level. However, according to the theoretical principles of communicative activity teaching and the general procedures of classroom teaching, it can be divided into demonstration activities, practical activities and practical activities. Many activities can be carried out alternately, and the ways of each activity are varied.

5. Trinity teaching method:

It is a teaching method that integrates letters, phonemes and phonetic symbols according to their internal relations and cross-relationships. Trinity teaching method has changed the present situation that the traditional teaching method of "death teaching" and "death learning" is not effective, and enabled students to master the internal relations and cross relations among letters, phonemes and phonetic symbols.

6, natural law:

This method allows students to participate in activities according to their proficiency in what they have learned. Natural teaching method has the following characteristics:

(1) To maximize students' language input, language input must be natural and easy to understand.

(2) The initial stage is a silent stage with listening comprehension as the main activity, and students are not required to express themselves prematurely.

(3) Take acquisition activities, that is, content-centered language activities as the main form.

(4) Create a relaxed and pleasant learning atmosphere.

(5) Teachers should use foreign languages as much as possible, but students can use their own languages.

(6) Instead of correcting mistakes in oral activities, correct mistakes in written work.

7. Total physical reaction:

Mobilize students' sensory organs, so that students can achieve the purpose of memory through different movements of various parts of the body. Its formula is: demonstration (quiet)-imitation (beautiful)-talking while moving (whole body reaction).

(1) demonstration. Teachers clearly give language instructions (or language information), accompanied by action-assisted instructions, and students listen to understand its meaning and prepare for the reaction, which is called listening. For example, when I was in Module 6 of Book 3 of New Standard English (mainly requiring students to master eight verb phrases), I presented the key phrases of this unit by introducing old phrases into new ones. When presenting this phrase, I pronounce it clearly and slowly, with homework, so that students can not only hear the pronunciation of the phrase clearly, but also understand its meaning.

(2) Teachers order students to make action responses, absorb language knowledge, and try to link language with action, which is called imitation. After the students hear the pronunciation and understand the meaning of the phrase, I will ask the whole class to say and do it with me.

(3) Let some students give orders, while others do actions, until the students talk and gesture. Students subconsciously absorb and internalize the language materials they hear, form a sense of language, speak naturally, and respond with feedback and reinforcement.

8, cooperative learning method:

Let the students practice their language and learn from each other by participating in activities in pairs. Advantages of cooperative learning method:

(1) Stimulate and mobilize interest and initiative.

(2) Improve self-study ability and promote ability development. In most classes, students passively accept the knowledge in the model designed by teachers, which cannot reflect students' learning ability. Now it is advocated to return the classroom to students, who are no longer "spectators" but the main body of learning.

(3) Cultivate teamwork spirit and build self-confidence. The teacher assigned the students to study in groups and help each other. In this learning atmosphere, individual students with learning difficulties can gradually master scientific learning methods with the help of their classmates, and can boldly express their opinions.
