Historical evolution of Huayuan county
In the first year of Hongwu (1368), Chongshan was located in the old city (now the old acropolis of Jiwei Town) and then moved to Chongshan Qianzhai. The county-level organizational system of Huayuan County began in the thirty years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1397) and was set up by thousands of military and civilian households in the west of the town. Chongshan Village in the west of the town (124) is divided into ten miles, which are separated from Gaoyan River. The next four miles are today's Jishou, and the upper six miles are today's Huayuan County, formerly known as "Liuli Miao Di".
In the eighth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1730), Liuli was set as Tongzhi, and in the tenth year of Yongzheng, Liuli was changed to Yongsui Hall, which governed Jiwei Jiduoping. In the second year of Jiaqing (1797), Yongsui Hall was promoted to Zhili Hall. In the seventh year of Jiaqing, the government moved to Huayuan (now the county seat).
In the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), Zhili hall was changed to administrative hall. The following year, Yongsui Hall was changed to Yongsui County, which belonged to Chen Yuan Road. In 24 years, it belonged to Xiangxi appeasement department. For 25 years, it belongs to the fourth administrative supervision area of Hunan Province. In 29 years, it was the ninth administrative supervision area.
1949 1 1 peaceful liberation, and at the same time establish a county people's government to administer Huayuan. Belonging to Yuanling area, 1952 was changed to Xiangxi Miao Autonomous Region. 1953 In September, Yongsui County was renamed Huayuan County. The jurisdiction and governance location remain unchanged. 1955 belongs to Xiangxi Miao Autonomous Prefecture. 1957 belongs to Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
