1. Judging from the observation time.
(1) Long-term observation, that is, continuous systematic observation for a relatively long period of time (usually as long as several weeks, months or years). Many psychologists record and analyze children's psychological development in diaries or biographies, which belongs to this observation method. For example, Darwin's Baby Biography and China's Chen Heqin's Child Development Process. This observation method is sometimes called diary method and biography method.
(2) regular observation, that is, observation at a certain time. For example, in order to study the psychological characteristics of preschool children's game activities, you can observe them once or twice a week for one or two hours each time and observe them several times. After a certain period of time, we will sort out and analyze the recorded materials.
