Rational thinking on how to deal with the internationalization of education in basic education
Cheng Xuan (College of Life Sciences, Anhui Normal University, Wuhu, Anhui 24 1000) Abstract: Internationalization is an important feature and trend of education in the world today. The internationalization of education is to grasp and develop education from an international perspective. The times and society put forward the requirements for education to adapt to the development of international economic globalization and cultivate talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication ability. Basic education should "go deep into international understanding education and establish value belief" in response to the internationalization of education; "Strengthen the international cooperation and exchange of basic education, provide real experience" and "strengthen the internationalization of teachers and cultivate talents". Keywords: internationalization of education; Basic education; Coping strategies; Rational thinking "Education should face modernization, the world and the future." This is the concept of internationalization of education clearly put forward by Comrade Deng Xiaoping when he wrote an inscription for Jingshan Middle School in 1983. After a lapse of 27 years, with the convening of the Shanghai World Expo, "internationalization" has once again attracted more attention and consideration in China. While people appreciate the achievements of human civilization and share the science and technology of various countries, they also deeply appreciate the surging wave of "internationalization". In the field of education, "internationalization of education" is quietly starting. In the Outline of the National Medium-and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan (Draft for Comment), the training goal of "international talents" is put forward for the first time, and it is clearly required to "train a large number of international talents with international vision, who are familiar with international rules and can participate in international affairs and international competition". This is also the demand of the times and society for education. This is the requirement of every parent. Behind students' choice of education. Facing the quietly starting internationalization of education, how should basic education respond and think? I. What is the internationalization of education The so-called internationalization of education means grasping and developing education from an international perspective. The core of educational internationalization is to make full use of domestic and foreign educational markets, optimize the allocation of domestic educational resources and elements, and cultivate high-quality talents with international competitiveness under the background of economic globalization and trade liberalization. In the era of increasingly prominent knowledge economy, the competition of national comprehensive strength is, in the final analysis, the competition of talents. Therefore, the ultimate goal of education internationalization is to cultivate talents with international awareness, international communication ability and international competitiveness, so that such talents can stand on their own ground, look at the world and actively participate in international competition. Second, the need for internationalization of education Culture and education are the products of social development, and they change with social development and social changes. The education in Confucius' era was satisfied with "only talking and not doing"; After the industrial revolution, western countries put forward the "classroom teaching" method to train specialized personnel; /kloc-German scholars in the 20th century put forward the idea of "the unity of teaching and scientific research"; At the beginning of the 20th century, the United States put forward the educational concept of "universities serve the society". These changes in educational concepts are based on the changes of our times and society. China's economy is being integrated into the world economic and social tide in a wider field and at a deeper level. Economic globalization and trade liberalization lead to the mutual agitation and blending of different cultures. In recent years, a series of major events in the world have pushed China to the forefront. The international community hopes that China will become a responsible big country, participate in more international affairs and exert its influence and appeal. It is in this context that the internationalization of education has been mentioned in an increasingly important strategic position. The times and society put forward the requirements for education to adapt to the development of international economic globalization and cultivate talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication ability. This not only requires higher education to go abroad in terms of teachers, scientific research and academics. Strengthening international exchanges and giving full play to the cooperative function between universities in various countries are also important responsibilities of basic education closely related to it. Third, the response of basic education 1. Deepening the education of international understanding and establishing the internationalization of values and beliefs is not only to build an international metropolis, but also to enable people to live in the world, adapt to the changes brought about by globalization and become challenging world citizens. This requires that international understanding education should first go deep into the primary and secondary education system. People living in the big family of the world have many commonalities and consensus, and they all face common problems such as environment, energy and nationality. These problems cannot be drawn clearly by national boundaries, nor can a country or a nation solve them alone. To deal with a country, we must first understand its politics, culture and history; Understand their way of thinking, their customs and religious beliefs, otherwise it may cause unnecessary trouble or even misunderstanding. Therefore, the compilation of books on international understanding education in primary and secondary schools, such as international relations, international issues, international politics and international economy, and international cultural studies, has begun in cities such as Shanghai and Beijing, where the atmosphere is easy to get ahead. China's future civil servants, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, etc. Should have the qualities of being integrated into the mainstream economy, international cultural knowledge and public values of the international community. And long-term planning, and gradually cultivate in the basic education stage. At this stage, although the international exchange in the field of basic education has not yet reached the level of popularization, a group of middle schools with certain school-running strength and awareness of international exchange have been actively exploring, and both Beijing, Shanghai and some second-and third-tier cities are showing a continuous and in-depth trend. Many schools have gone through the period from "walking around and broadening their horizons" to purposefully and consciously studying abroad. The task of teachers' visit is to understand the overseas education system, curriculum and teaching methods, and they are also obliged to report their learning experience to all teachers after returning home. For students to visit, the school also has training in etiquette and folklore, and also has the task of writing feelings and cases after returning. Through international exchanges and cooperation, many schools have realized the transformation from simply "seeing the world" to spreading experience overseas, from simply studying abroad to reflecting on national culture and establishing patriotic feelings. International cooperation and exchange not only broaden our horizons, but also enhance the connotation of national culture; From the superficial you come and go to the deep-seated curriculum integration; From a handful of international visits to the formation of a broad and stable international education network exchange platform between schools and cities, the level of communication is also constantly improving. The quality of this cooperation and exchange needs to be improved, and the scope should be expanded from some prestigious schools with a long history and strong strength to ordinary schools, which is also the embodiment of educational equity. 3. Strengthen the internationalization of teaching staff, cultivate educational elites, hire international talents to participate in school education management, and introduce foreign teachers into primary and secondary schools and even kindergarten classes. The speed and scale of this introduction are increasing. At the same time, it is also an important part of the internationalization of education to send teachers abroad for further study, visits, lectures and cooperative research in a planned way. Local governments need to increase investment in education, actively encourage teachers to "go abroad", build overseas teacher training bases, and increase the intensity of sending key course teachers and key teachers to train abroad. Knowledge is infinite, but every teacher's knowledge is limited in a narrow area. Therefore, only through communication can we promote and improve each other. In recent years, many schools in China have sent a large number of teachers to visit, study and give lectures abroad, and the level of teachers has been greatly improved. For example, I have learned and absorbed the frontier knowledge of many disciplines, learned and contacted the latest experimental equipment, enhanced my practical ability, learned many new teaching ideas and methods from foreign schools, and improved my foreign language level. However, teacher training needs to be further expanded, a perfect training system and funding policy are needed, and teachers' training needs need to be understood. The realization of educational internationalization is closely related to the improvement of teachers' international consciousness and degree of internationalization. Four. Reflections on the internationalization of education 1. Whether the more international exchanges, the better. The healthy development of international communication must be integrated into the overall development of the school, with an effective carrier and a foothold, and the courses and topics developed by the school should be integrated with each other. The process of international exchange also needs careful research and design according to the actual situation of schools and students. With the smooth international communication, there are more and more opportunities for students to go abroad, but it does not mean that the more exchanges, the better, nor does it mean that students can be promoted immediately after exchanges. Some students saw a relatively relaxed educational environment abroad, and after they came back, they were dissatisfied with the educational environment of their schools and families and relaxed their requirements. In addition, international exchange needs certain funds, whether it is funded by relevant institutions or by students themselves. Students who have no chance to go out to communicate also need to do ideological work to reduce students' ideological fluctuations. In short, if you are not prepared ideologically, the more immature the primary and secondary school students are, the more counterproductive the international exchange will be. 2. Internationalization cannot become "nationalization". The internationalization of education does not mean the integration, unification and assimilation of education, nor can it be simply equated with westernization. The internationalization of education is to cultivate students' recognition, understanding, tolerance and acceptance of different cultures and national customs from an international perspective. The internationalization of education is not to bring the way of thinking of domestic children into foreign countries, but to cultivate their own ideas and understand the existence of other different ways of thinking and values. It is those unique and diversified ways of thinking and values that make up a diversified world. V. Summary Mr. Lu Xun once said: The more national it is, the more cosmopolitan it is. The internationalization of education is a double-edged sword. We must be soberly aware that it will not only promote all-round international exchanges and cooperation, spread new technologies and improve people's comprehensive quality, but also erode and affect a country's sovereignty and local traditional culture, which will easily lead to ideological, political, religious, cultural and social problems. Therefore, we should regard the internationalization of basic education as a challenging opportunity. Only by recognizing the development trend of education and responding positively can we win in the challenge. When China's education brought some useful things from the west, and made it localized and nationalized, it eventually became the exporter of educational ideas and methods. When cultural exchange truly became two-way, it was truly international.
