Legal analysis: The four major educations of national unity and progress refer to laws and regulations education, national policy education, national theory education and national knowledge education.

Legal basis: Article 4 of the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC): All ethnic groups in People's Republic of China (PRC) are equal. The state protects the legitimate rights and interests of ethnic minorities and maintains and develops the harmonious relationship of equality, unity and mutual assistance among all ethnic groups. Discrimination and oppression against any ethnic group are prohibited, and acts that undermine ethnic unity and create ethnic divisions are prohibited. According to the characteristics and needs of ethnic minorities, the state helps ethnic minority areas to accelerate economic and cultural development. Regional autonomy is practiced in areas where ethnic minorities live in compact communities, and organs of self-government are set up to exercise autonomy. All ethnic autonomous areas are an inalienable part of People's Republic of China (PRC). All ethnic groups have the freedom to use and develop their own spoken and written languages and to maintain or reform their own customs and habits.
