Guyuan City, referred to as "Gu" for short, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is located in Liupanshan District in the south of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, showing a trend of high in the south and low in the north. It borders Qingyang City and Pingliang City in Gansu Province in the east, Pingliang City in the south, Baiyin City in the west and Zhongwei and Wuzhong in Ningxia in the north. It has a typical continental climate with a total area of 6.5438+0.5 million square kilometers. By June 2022, 1 1, the whole city will be under the jurisdiction of 1 district 4 counties. By the end of 2022, the permanent population of Guyuan was 1 15 19000.
On July 7th, 200 1 year, Guyuan area was established. Guyuan City is the sub-central city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, located in the center of the triangle formed by the three provincial capitals of Xi, Lanzhou and Yinchuan. It is one of the five prefecture-level cities in Ningxia and the only city not along the Yellow River. The Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia old revolutionary base area is planned as a central city, a regional central city in southern Ningxia, a political, economic and cultural center and a transportation hub.
Located at the intersection of farming culture in the central plains and nomadic culture in the north, it is the only place where the eastern section of the Silk Road passes through the northern road, and historically it is the economic center, transportation hub and military center of the northwest region.
Guyuan is the first batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization, and has also been named the sixth batch of national demonstration areas (units) for national unity and progress by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. There are more than 70 scenic spots in the city, including Laolongtan, Er'long River, Gate of Hell, Liangdian Gorge, Yehe Valley and Baiyun Mountain.
In 2022, Guyuan achieved a regional GDP of 40.968 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6% over the previous year.
Administrative divisions:
In March, 2003, according to the Reply of the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on Adjusting the Divisions of Villages and Towns in Four Counties of Xijilongde Pengyang Haiyuan, the work of "Withdrawing Villages and Merging Towns" was implemented, and the city reduced 148 administrative villages and 3 1 villager group.
By the end of 1 1 in 2022, Guyuan had jurisdiction over 1 district and four counties: Yuanzhou District, Xiji County, Longde County, Jingyuan County and Pengyang County. Each county (district) has jurisdiction over 62 townships (towns), 3 streets, 795 villages and 68 communities. The Municipal People's Government is located in Yuanzhou District.
