National honorary title is the highest national honor in People's Republic of China (PRC), awarded to outstanding people who have made great contributions and enjoyed high reputation in the fields of economy, society, national defense, diplomacy, education, science and technology, culture, health and sports.

1. Winners of national medals and national honorary titles should be respected by the state and society, and enjoy the lofty courtesy of being invited to participate in national celebrations and other major events and the treatment stipulated by the state.

2. The state and society publicize the outstanding achievements and deeds of the winners of national medals and national honorary titles through various forms.

3. The winners of national medals and national honorary titles shall enjoy them for life, except those revoked in accordance with the provisions of this Law.

4. Winners of national medals and national honorary titles shall wear national medals and national honorary titles in accordance with regulations, and properly keep medals, medals and certificates.

5. If the winner of the national medal and national honorary title dies, the medals, medals and certificates obtained by him shall be kept by his successor or designated person; If there is no heir or nominee, it can be kept by the state.

Article 8 Names of national honorary titles are generally preceded by the word "people", such as "people's hero", "people's guardian", "people's scientist", "people's artist" and "people's educator", and other names may be used. The specific name shall be determined when the NPC Standing Committee decides to grant it.
