The doctoral program in business administration offered by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1996 is the first professional and academic doctoral program offered by a local university. This course was extended to Chinese mainland in 2004, and was jointly organized with Renmin University of China, and named as the degree course of Doctor of Management (DMgt).
