"Five loves" means loving the motherland, people, labor, science and socialism. It is the basic requirement of socialist morality and school moral education, formed, enriched and determined in the long-term revolutionary struggle and socialist construction practice, and is an important part of building Socialism with Chinese characteristics's education system. To carry out the spirit of the resolution of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Central Committee and improve and strengthen the moral education in schools, we should further hold high the banner of "five loves".
Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "five loves" education has played an important role in training generations of socialist builders and successors. 1982, after "five loves" was formally written into the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC) as a basic requirement for citizens, a series of moral education documents issued by the Central Committee and the State Education Commission and the curriculum plan issued by the State Education Commission repeatedly emphasized that "five loves" should be the basic content of ideological and moral education for young people.
1992, The Curriculum Plan for Nine-year Compulsory Education Full-time Primary School and Junior High School issued by the State Education Commission stipulates that the goal of the primary school stage is to "initially have the thoughts and feelings of loving the motherland, people, labor, science and socialism ..." The goal of the junior high school stage is to "have the thoughts and feelings of loving the motherland, people, labor, science and socialism. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's "Several Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving Moral Education in Schools" once again emphasizes: "Students' five loves, civilized behavior habits, good moral quality and law-abiding consciousness, scientific outlook on life, world outlook, values and socialist ideals and beliefs are gradually formed through education. "In the resolution of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Central Committee in 1996," five loves "was once again reiterated as the basic requirement of socialist morality.
"Five Love" education fully embodies the characteristics of school moral education, such as orientation, times, scientificity and operability, and handles the relationship between socialist ideal and belief education, outlook on life, world outlook and values education and the cultivation of civilized behavior habits. Decades of educational practice have proved that the "five loves" education has played an active role in comprehensively implementing the educational policy, improving students' ideological and moral, scientific and cultural qualities and cultivating qualified socialist citizens.
With the deepening of reform and opening up and the establishment of the socialist market economic system, people's ideas have undergone profound changes, and moral education in schools has encountered many new situations and problems. Schools should actively explore and study new ways to improve the effectiveness of school moral education, but they should not lower the requirements of moral education objectives. We must clearly oppose the "neutralization" tendency of ideological and moral education and unswervingly adhere to the correct direction of "five loves" education.
Schools should proceed from reality, according to the characteristics of the times and the needs of social development, and constantly give "five loves" new content of the times. We should organically combine the education of loving the motherland and socialism with the great practice of building a Socialism with Chinese characteristics; Combine loving the people with cultivating students to establish the idea of serving the people wholeheartedly; Combine the love of labor with the cultivation of students' labor outlook, habits, skills and feelings of loving the working people; Combine loving science with implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and studying hard to realize the "four modernizations" of the motherland; Combine loving socialism with cultivating students to establish a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, and establish firm socialist ideals and beliefs. Make the "five loves" education lively, full of characteristics of the times, and achieve practical results in a down-to-earth manner.
