The School of Education Science of Shandong Normal University, formerly known as the Education Department of Shandong Normal University, was established on1October 29th, 1950, and it was one of the six earliest departments of Shandong Normal University. 1954, the education department was closed and changed to the education teaching and research section. 1979, the institute of educational science was established. 1980 the department of education was rebuilt and began to recruit undergraduate students majoring in education. Pre-school education added 1984 to recruit two-year junior college students. 1987 the institute of educational science was separated from the department of education and established the institute of educational science of Shandong normal university. 1993 the preschool education major of the education department was changed to undergraduate course. 1998, set up the undergraduate major of applied psychology. In February 2000, the Ministry of Education merged with the Institute of Educational Sciences to form the School of Educational Sciences of Shandong Normal University. In June 2006, it was renamed the College of Education. There are 49 faculty members, including professors 1 1, 20 associate professors and 7 doctoral supervisors. There are 820 full-time undergraduates and 229 doctoral and master students.
The college consists of education department, preschool education department, curriculum and teaching department. It has an authorization point for doctoral degree in the first-level discipline of education, a post-doctoral research station in education, two authorization points for doctoral degree in the principle, curriculum and teaching theory of education, and one authorization point for master's degree in the first-level discipline of education; There are education management professional education master training points, university teachers master training points, and education master professional degree authorization points; There are two undergraduate majors: pedagogy and preschool education. The principle of pedagogy is a national key (training) discipline, and the Shandong provincial government has set up a discipline after "Taishan Scholars", and Shandong Province has strengthened the construction of provincial key disciplines. The research center of basic education curriculum and teaching is a base for strengthening humanities and social sciences research in Shandong Province during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period. The undergraduate major of education is a national second-class major, and the Institute of Educational Science and Shandong Education Research Base of Shandong Normal University are affiliated to the College of Education.
The college attaches importance to scientific research. Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, he has undertaken more than 80 projects at all levels.
