The founder of the restaurant is Yin Hongda, who grew up in Beijing, but moved to other places with his family when he was a teenager. Because of missing his hometown, Yin Hongda founded this restaurant with rich Beijing flavor in 1966, which mainly deals in imperial snacks, so that people who leave home can also taste authentic palace-level old Beijing snacks.
