Will all counties and cities with a population of over 300,000 run special education schools?
According to reports, recently, the Hefei Municipal Government's 1 th executive meeting reviewed and approved the Hefei Second Special Education Promotion Plan (20 18-2020). According to the plan, the city will provide free education for disabled students from preschool to senior high school (15).

According to the report, the person in charge of the Hefei Municipal Education Bureau said that in the future, the data of school-age disabled children and adolescents who have not enrolled in various counties and cities will be verified one by one, and priority will be given to regular schools to arrange compulsory education for school-age disabled children and adolescents nearby. By 2020, all ordinary schools that recruit more than five disabled students will establish special education resource classrooms, and each resource classroom will be equipped with teachers specializing in education for the disabled.

According to the plan, the enrollment of special education for the visually and hearing impaired will be gradually concentrated in Hefei Special Education Center, and the enrollment of special education for multiple disabilities such as mental retardation, autism and cerebral palsy will be mainly in counties and cities. By 2020, there will basically be a special education school or special education class (department) in all counties and cities with a population of more than 300,000 in the city to ensure that disabled children and adolescents receive special education nearby.

For school-age disabled children who can't go to school and need special care, our city will send them to communities, child welfare institutions, rehabilitation education institutions and families to implement education. In addition, the city also encourages all localities to explore the establishment of special education schools (departments) for autistic children and adolescents.

I hope the policy reform can be implemented as soon as possible!
