Especially in the Ming Dynasty, there were two logging stations in the north and south of Linxian County, and a large number of trees were cut down endlessly, which made all the hills in Linxian County bare, the ecological environment deteriorated and there was no water.

Facing water shortage, is it bitter or hard? Linxian people chose to work hard! 1954, Yang Gui came to Linxian as the county party secretary. He led the people of Linxian County, determined to change the water shortage in Linxian County, and put forward the idea of "rearranging the rivers and mountains in Linxian County"!

They spread out the battlefield on the Taihang Mountain, and the whole party mobilized and the whole people started work. Thousands of people unite. After ten years, they dug a 1500 km "artificial Tianhe" Red Flag Canal, which was praised by Premier Zhou Enlai as two wonders of new China, one is Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, and the other is Linxian Red Flag Canal. Since then, the Red Flag Canal has been famous at home and abroad.
