Xintai, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, is managed by Taian City. It is located in the middle of Shandong Province, between 35 37' and 36 07' north latitude and between11716'-118 east longitude. Its terrain is mainly hilly and covers an area.

Linyi in the east, Qufu, the hometown of Confucius in the south, Gangcheng District and Laiwu District of Jinan City in the north and Tai 'an City in the west, which is 133.8km away from the center of Jinan, the provincial capital.

It belongs to the continental monsoon climate zone of warm temperate zone, and governs 3 streets, 17 towns and 1 township, with a total area of 1946 square kilometers. According to the data of the seventh national census, as of 0: 00 1 1 in June 2020, the permanent population of xintai city was 1272698. Humans existed in the Paleolithic Age in Xintai, and the tooth fossils of Homo sapiens unearthed in Wuzhutai prove that it was once one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation.

There are three state-owned ecological public welfare forest farms in the territory: Lianhua Mountain, Taiping Mountain and Tumen. Lianhua Mountain is a world geological park, a national 4A scenic spot and a national forest park. Highway traffic in the territory is developed. Two expressways, Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and Taixin Expressway, and three railways, Lai Ci, Du Dong, Pingyi and Wali, run through the whole territory.
