According to official website, Bengbu Medical College,1July, 958, in order to speed up the construction of Anhui and change the situation that people in northern Anhui lack medicine and medicine, the state decided to establish Bengbu Medical College with the help of the former Shanghai Second Medical College (now Shanghai Jiaotong Medical College).

At present, it is a provincial comprehensive medical college in Anhui Province, the first batch of units with the right to award bachelor's and master's degrees, the first batch of pilot universities for excellent physician education and training programs, the first batch of pilot universities for students' innovation and entrepreneurship training programs, the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of postgraduate training mode for medical masters, the first batch of pilot universities for the promotion of non-test graduate students by the Ministry of Education, the first batch of pilot units for comprehensive reform of universities in Anhui Province, and the first batch of postdoctoral post setting units for academician workstations in Anhui Province.
