First, write three English letters in the blank space in the middle of the picture, and then add some patterns of small stars around them as decorations. Draw two or three square text boxes on the left and right sides of English letters, and then connect them with the letters by straight lines.

Continue to add square text boxes to the mind map, and draw the mind map to the third level, so that you can sort out the knowledge more deeply. Color the remaining text boxes in the mind map with different colors such as green, yellow, blue and pink according to your own preferences, so as to complete the drawing of the mind map.

The spread of English

By the late18th century, Britain had spread English through its colonial and geopolitical advantages. Business, technology, art and formal education all make English the first truly global language. English has also promoted international communication all over the world. England continued to form new colonies, and later these colonies developed their own language and writing norms.

English is spoken in parts of North America, parts of Africa, Oceania and many other areas. After gaining political independence, some newly independent countries with many indigenous languages choose to continue to use English as the official language to avoid the political and other difficulties inherent in treating any indigenous language as another language.

In the 20th century, the growing economic and cultural influence of the United States and its superpower status after World War II, as well as English broadcasting companies such as BBC, led to the faster spread of this language on the earth. In the 2nd/kloc-0th century, English was more widely used and written than any other language.

With the development of modern English, official media such as public education and state-funded publications have published and disseminated clear norms of standard usage. 1755, samuel johnson published the English Dictionary, which introduced the standard spelling and usage of words.

1828, noah webster published the American English Dictionary, trying to establish a standard of speaking and writing American English independent of the British standard. In Britain, the characteristics of nonstandard or inferior dialects are increasingly discriminated against, which leads to the rapid spread of prestigious variants among the middle class.
