Before, some flower friends looked at the beautiful potted pineapples raised by others and tried to feed the fresh pineapple heads themselves, but after a while, instead of growing roots, they began to rot from the bottom. So he thinks this is a bluff, and it is impossible to take root and survive.
I have raised many pineapple trees with fresh pineapple heads, but in the north, I can only look at them as green radish potted plants, and I can't grow pineapples from them. The reason why this flower friend didn't survive may be that some small sections were not done well in the operation. Here is a brief introduction to how to raise pineapple tree with pineapple heads.
First, use fresh pineapple heads.
If you plan to plant a pineapple tree yourself, when choosing pineapples, you should choose those with green and fresh leaves. This pineapple has a lot of nutrients stored in its head, so it is easy to raise its roots. If the leaves on the pineapple head have turned yellow and are no longer fresh, this pineapple can't take root normally even if it is cultured in water.
Second, clean the pulp on the pineapple head.
The reason why the flower friends on the top have rotten pineapple heads may be that the pulp on the top is not cleaned up, so the pulp on the bottom should be cut off completely, and the leaves on the bottom two layers will fade, and a circle of small pimples will be exposed on the top, and white roots will grow from it.
If the pulp on it is not cleaned up, not only will the roots not grow in water, but they will also rot, which is why they will rot.
Third, first cultivate the root system with water.
When planted directly in flowerpots, the treated pineapple heads may not take root easily. It is best to cultivate white roots in water first, and then in loose and breathable culture soil.
Water bacon can be made in a plastic cup, directly insert the pineapple head into the cup and add 2 ~ 3 cm of water. Be careful not to add too much water, otherwise it will affect its breathing and will rot easily after a long time.
After adding water, put it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and change fresh water every 3 ~ 5 days. If the water is not changed for a long time, a layer of mucus will grow on the bottom. Once mucus appears, rinse it with running tap water.
Fourth, re-transplant in the pot.
When the temperature is right, the pineapple can grow roots in about 20 days. When the white roots grow to about 2 ~ 3 cm, they can be cultivated in flowerpots.
Because the newly grown white root system is relatively immature, it should be moved gently when it is cultivated in soil. Plant it in a flowerpot, use soft and breathable culture soil, gently compact the soil by hand, and then pour it in a place without sunlight for maintenance. Wait until it completely survives, and then strengthen the management of water, fertilizer and light.
