According to the spirit of the document of the general office of the Ministry of Education (Letter No.33 from the Department of Education, Sports and Arts [2004]), the Ministry of Education will implement the "Sports Art 2+ 1 Project" nationwide.
"Sports and Art 2+ 1 Project" is an important project gradually promoted by the Ministry of Education in order to implement the action plan of revitalizing education from 2003 to 2007, implement the educational policy of all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty, and promote the reform and development of physical education and aesthetic education in schools. It means that every student is required to master two sports skills and 1 artistic skills of fitness exercise in the nine-year compulsory education stage through physical education and art education activities inside and outside class.
The head of the Department of Sports Health and Art Education of the Ministry of Education pointed out that the "2+ 1 project" of sports art will play a positive role in cultivating students' habit of participating in physical exercise, improving students' aesthetic quality and cultivating students' sentiment. At the same time, carrying out this activity is conducive to promoting students to actively participate in extracurricular cultural and sports activities and promoting the development of sports art curriculum reform.
In order to implement the spirit of the document "Sports and Art 2+ 1 Project" of the Ministry of Education, the Department of Sports Health and Art of the Ministry of Education has formulated the implementation plan of "Sports and Art 2+ 1 Project", in which the implementation principles, methods and standards are defined. The skill standards of fine arts are divided into twelve categories: Chinese painting, sketch, printmaking, watercolor painting, cartoon, sculpture, craft, design, calligraphy, seal cutting, photography and quyi. Each category is also expounded in the implementation plan, and the basic objectives and development requirements are put forward, which is of practical significance for guiding school evaluation and students' learning to meet the standards.
