Joe used to be a commodity trader. After Mel's sister and brother-in-law's Ponzi scheme, his job, money and even marriage all went up in smoke, so he was so nervous that he wanted to live in his car. Seeing that Mel needs to raise his nieces and nephews (and he really needs a job), he agrees (more like voluntarily) to be a nanny, live in Mel's house, help Mel and give advice to the children. He was born in a military hospital in a place called Uijeongbu in South Korea and grew up in New Jersey. He also has a brother named Taylor.

Lenox Elizabeth scanlon

Lenox is a free and unrestrained adolescent girl. She is very excited to live with Aunt Mel. Although they often have different opinions, she is grateful to her aunt for letting her live in.

Ryder scanlon.

Ryder is Mel's nephew and the youngest member of the family. He is only a few years younger than lenox. Like many teenagers of his age, he likes watching TV and taking part in some sports. Stephanie Klaus

Stephanie, Mel's legal assistant and intern, appeared in episode 7. Extremely active and loyal, Stephanieis keen to arrange interviews for Mel, celebrities and politicians, as well as other media photos and media reports. She can list a series of reasons why Joe fascinates her.

Rhonda is Mel's press secretary. She is dizzy and frivolous, and is a loyal friend of Mel. She often gives Mel some advice on dating or educating her children.
