The signing and implementation of the Great Wall Project is an important milestone. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, Microsoft Research Asia began to cooperate with universities in China in a more systematic and targeted way. Based on the good cooperation between the two sides, in 2005, the two sides renewed the memorandum and began to implement the second phase of the Great Wall Project. The work of the University Relations Department focuses on four main lines: personnel training, research cooperation, curriculum construction and academic exchange, and has carried out project support activities such as Microsoft excellent course support plan, Microsoft theme research support plan, Microsoft innovation research fund, and joint basic research project support with the Information Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Join hands with universities to establish joint laboratories and set up Microsoft Student Technology Club; For young scholars and students, Microsoft Young Professor Award, Microsoft Scholarship and Microsoft Junior Scholarship have been established. In addition, a large number of large-scale activities have been held to promote academic exchanges, such as "Computing in 2 1 Century", "Microsoft Education Summit" and "Microsoft Thematic Research Forum". Over the past eight years, the University Relations Department has established joint laboratories with nine universities including Tsinghua University and Peking University.
