Investigation on the present situation of primary school students' extracurricular learning ability
I. Purpose of the investigation

The quality of learning attitude directly affects the learning effect and the formation and development of students' personality. Good study habits are the basic guarantee for students to study smoothly, and also the need for lifelong learning. According to our usual observation and understanding, some primary school students in our city have not yet developed a positive learning attitude and good study habits, so they lack the ability and motivation to continue learning. In order to change the present situation and find effective ways and methods to cultivate students' learning attitudes and habits, we went deep into urban and rural primary schools in this city and investigated the present situation of primary school students' learning attitudes and habits.

Second, research methods.

(1) survey method.

Questionnaire survey method: student questionnaire.

Observation: Listen to the class and check the students' exercise books.

Interview method: teacher-student forum.

Quantitative and qualitative analysis.

(2) The time, object and scope of the investigation.

1, date: March-May 2008.

2. Object and scope: Six primary schools were randomly selected as the survey objects of classroom teaching (Bajia Town Changtang Primary School, Experimental Primary School, Song Lian Town Xinlian Primary School, Beimian Town Central Primary School, yongningzhen Hong Guang Primary School and Wangshi Town Jianshe Primary School); Six primary schools were randomly selected as the survey objects (Wang Shi Town Central Primary School, Xinhe Primary School, Chengchuncheng North Primary School, Shengping Primary School, Bajia Town Xu Wu Primary School, Hekou Town Longmen Primary School, Guigang Town Ma Hammer Primary School); The subjects of the questionnaire are 169 students from three primary schools (64 students from Cheng Chunyi and Grade 3 1 class, 50 students from Heshui Central Primary School and 55 students from Grade 5 1 class in Cheng Chun Kongtong Primary School).

Third, the survey results.

(1) Learning attitude.

There are four questions about students' learning attitude in the questionnaire:

1. Will you take an active part in various learning activities during class?

In 169 questionnaires, 40% of the students actively participated, 57% of the students performed moderately, and 3% of the students did not participate.

2. How did you perform in class group cooperation and communication? Actively express opinions; B listen carefully to other people's opinions; C does not participate)

3. Will you listen carefully to the students' answers or the teacher's explanations in class? Meeting; B sometimes; C won't)

From the results of the above two (2, 3 questions) questionnaires, we find that most students can "listen carefully", but few students actively express their opinions in group communication.

In the above three aspects, the results of the questionnaire survey are basically consistent with our observation results: the attendance rate of students is still relatively high, and most students are more careful in attending classes, but not many students actively raise their hands to answer questions and speak actively; Students who actively participate in various learning activities and passively participate in learning activities basically account for half. In these respects, students in lower grades perform better than students in higher grades, and students in urban primary schools perform better than students in mountain primary schools.

In terms of learning attitude, I also learned from the conversation with the teacher that about two-fifths of the students are diligent and inquisitive, and some students lack initiative, consciousness and hard work.

The fourth question of the questionnaire is:

Which subject do you like best? Language; B mathematics; C English; D art; E music; F sports; G other)

The purpose of this topic is to understand students' interests. From the questionnaire and our interview, we know that students' favorite subject is not necessarily the main subject, but which subject is taught by their favorite teacher. For example, among the three classes surveyed, PE and music in one class are the most popular among students, followed by Chinese and mathematics. The reason why students like the teacher of this course is that the teacher's class is good, vivid and interesting.

(2) study habits.

The survey results show that primary school students have certain good study habits. For example, more than 90% of students wait to show their thinking process after classroom exercises are completed (only 65,438+00% of students and other classmates or teachers say it before doing it); 90% of students can independently complete the assignments assigned by teachers in various subjects "; 80% students in urban primary schools have the habit of reading extracurricular books; Most students have good listening habits.

But there are still some problems, mainly in the following aspects:

1, students' homework habits are generally poor.

We checked the Chinese and math homework of students in six primary schools. Among them, most of the students' homework in three schools is good, and the quality of the students' homework in three primary schools is generally poor, which is characterized by incorrect handwriting, random alteration, untidiness and low accuracy. Observation in class: the writing posture is incorrect, the head is low, the exercise book is tilted, the pen is held very low, and the thumb presses the index finger. Not many students can do it.

2, preview, review habits have not yet been "finalized".

According to the questionnaire, 27% students preview and review regularly, 52% students preview and review sometimes, and 265,438+0% students preview and review when the teacher arranges. Through our conversations with teachers and students, what we have learned is basically the same. This fully shows that students' habit of consciously previewing and reviewing subject content has not yet formed.

3. Lack of habit of asking questions and thinking independently.

Classroom observation: For example, in Chinese class, teachers ask questions or express their opinions after reading the text, but few students can take the initiative to ask questions and express their opinions. Most students just wait. Once the teacher asks questions, "Silence is golden". Some classes are lively on the surface, with questions and answers. In fact, except for a few excellent students who can answer the teacher's questions, many students are waiting for other students or teachers' answers, or echoing voices, and don't think about the questions at all.

4. Did not develop good extracurricular reading habits.

Among the three primary schools in the questionnaire, one is an urban primary school and the other two are rural primary schools. Students in urban primary schools have the habit of reading extracurricular books, accounting for 80%, while students in rural primary schools only account for 35%.

Fourth, the reason analysis

1. Teachers ignore the concern about students' learning attitude and the cultivation of learning habits.

According to observation and understanding, teachers pay more attention to students' mastery of knowledge in the teaching process, but often ignore the concern about students' learning attitude. When they meet students with poor learning attitude, they often push them to the class teacher or parents, but rarely take the initiative to incorporate the cultivation of students' learning attitude into their work plans, let alone consciously and systematically cultivate students' learning attitude. Most teachers pay attention to the learning results (test scores), but ignore the cultivation of students' learning attitudes and habits.

2. Teachers' teaching behavior has certain influence on students' learning attitudes and habits.

In classroom teaching, some teachers only have lesson plans in mind, and they don't pay attention to standardizing classroom discipline and taking effective measures to guide students to participate in learning activities, which leads to students' distraction. Over time, students lose interest in learning. Some teachers' teaching methods are old-fashioned, such as "cramming" and "cramming". Students' dominant position in the classroom has not been established, and the classroom atmosphere is not democratic and harmonious enough, which leads to students' long-term passive acceptance. Students have no time to ask questions, think or talk. Some teachers' unreasonable or incorrect teaching design will also affect students' listening habits, such as: unclear questions, weak inspiration, poor quality of questions, and students don't know where to answer or won't answer; The rules and methods of group cooperative learning are not clear, and the problems discussed are not clear, which makes students at a loss. Some teachers do not pay attention to their exemplary role, such as: teachers draw circles casually in class, and the circles drawn are like circles but not circles; Students are required to write correct and standardized words, but they dance on the blackboard. Under such a teaching environment and teachers' teaching behavior, how can students develop good study habits?

3. Teachers' sense of responsibility is not strong, they are not strict with students and lack effective training methods.

For example, teachers are careless about students' homework, and some teachers let themselves go, asking nothing from students, and there are no measures to help students correct them. As a result, students' homework is getting worse every time. This is a sign that teachers are irresponsible to students' study.

Of course, society, family and other aspects will also have a greater impact on students' learning attitudes and habits.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) Problems and Countermeasures

Schools and teachers must attach great importance to students' learning attitudes and habits.

In order to comprehensively improve the quality of education and teaching, improve students' comprehensive quality, and cultivate students' innovative consciousness and ability, schools and teachers must attach great importance to students' learning attitudes and habits, incorporate them into the teaching plans of various subjects, and formulate effective concrete measures.

A student has a proactive learning attitude, that is, he has a clear understanding of the significance and importance of learning, so as to constantly experience the joy of progress in learning, overcome difficulties or setbacks in learning, and persist in completing established tasks or goals; Only good study habits can form good learning quality and ability, let students master the key to open the treasure house of knowledge, learn knowledge independently, develop the habit of autonomous learning, develop the ability of autonomous learning and improve learning efficiency.

2. Help students to establish a correct learning attitude.

Learning attitude is not innate, but acquired, which is gradually formed by individuals in family, school and social life through communication and accepting the demonstration, guidance and persuasion of others. Teachers should help students to establish a correct learning attitude, change bad learning attitudes, put forward clear and specific requirements to students in time, and guide students to change their original attitudes through corresponding activities. Teachers' persistent demands and timely praise are the premise of changing old bad attitudes and forming new bad attitudes. First of all, we should help students set up lofty ideals and let them have clear learning goals; Students are required to study hard, be solid, be diligent and eager to learn, study hard, be not ashamed to ask questions, concentrate in class, listen carefully, learn from others, finish homework on time after class, and strive to be correct, meticulous, pragmatic and all-round in the study of various courses.

Especially for poor students, teachers should help them build up their confidence in learning, increase their courage in learning, give them more encouragement and guidance, and make them make continuous progress.

3. Reform classroom teaching, so that students have a correct attitude and develop habits.

Classroom is the main position of quality education, and it is also the main position for students to form good learning attitude and good study habits. Therefore, teachers must change their teaching concepts, establish new curriculum concepts, boldly carry out classroom teaching reform, further optimize classroom teaching, and improve teaching methods and teaching means.

(1) Establish an equal teacher-student relationship and create a democratic, equal, relaxed and harmonious learning environment, so that students can feel safe, harmonious and independent in this environment and have an equal dialogue with classmates, teachers and even textbooks. In such an environment, the classroom will become a sky for students to fly their hearts, so that students like to attend classes and read books, and form a proactive learning attitude.

(2) Try to explore a variety of teaching methods and adopt a variety of teaching methods to stimulate students' interest in learning, fully mobilize students' enthusiasm for learning, and guide every student to actively participate in various learning activities. Learn to appreciate students, praise more and criticize less in class; Encourage more, reprimand less, try to create opportunities for students to experience the joy of success, and let students have a strong interest in learning.

(3) Try to change roles, be the organizer, guide and cooperator of classroom teaching, and implement independent, cooperative and inquiry learning methods. Teachers should give students time and space to ask questions, study and explore in cooperation, so that students can actively participate in the whole teaching process, and gradually develop good habits of independent thinking, daring to ask questions, daring to speak and being willing to express, and at the same time cultivate students' spirit of cooperation and the quality of exploring questions.

4. Establish a target system to cultivate students' good study habits.

The new curriculum standard points out: "We should pay attention to the cultivation of students' good habits. "Once a habit is formed, it will become a subconscious automatic behavior. If good habits are formed, students will benefit for life, and it will play a regular and permanent role in life, career and life. Cultivating students' good study habits can be required according to the following aspects:

The habit of preview before class, preview before class, be careful in class, review after class, work independently, be diligent in inquiry, carefully examine questions, write neatly, study and analyze, efficiency, time, reference books and newspapers.

On this basis, according to the new curriculum concept, we believe that these conventional habits should be gradually developed into higher-level learning habits, that is, creative learning habits, including learning methods such as daring to question, being good at questioning, paying attention to practice, learning to think, mastering cooperation, openness and inquiry.

5. Strengthen the management of teaching routine and promote the formation of students' good study habits.

Schools must incorporate the cultivation of students' good habits into the daily management of teaching, and regularly check and urge teachers to teach in class and correct students' homework. Teachers should always arrange and check students' subject preparation and review, and encourage and guide students' extracurricular reading. Promote the formation of students' good study habits through regular teaching management.
