The meaning of personalized teaching
Personalized teaching is a teaching method designed to meet the needs, interests, abilities and learning progress of individual students. Individualized teaching does not mean studying alone. When the same teaching materials and teaching methods can't aim at students' level differences in classroom teaching, teachers must specially design different teaching plans in the teaching process in order to take into account personal abilities, interests, needs and possible difficulties.

It is different from "individual teaching". Individual teaching is just a "one-on-one" teaching form. It may or may not be individual teaching. The key lies in whether it is a specially designed teaching scheme to meet students' ability needs. Therefore, personalized teaching is a kind of teaching that must adapt to the individual differences of students from the aspects of student grouping, curriculum organization, textbook compilation, teaching methods, curriculum arrangement and performance evaluation.

Due to the Great Depression and the progressive education movement in 1930s, this personalized teaching form is disappearing day by day. Personalized teaching has had a far-reaching impact on educational theory and practice. Personalized teaching activities that really have a wide and far-reaching impact in education should be promoted by the program teaching movement that rose in the 1950s.
