Shanghai Pudong Institute of Education and Development (hereinafter referred to as "Institute of Education and Development") was established in June 2004. It is formed by the merger of Pudong Institute of Education, Pudong Institute of Educational Science and Pudong Information Center. It is the implementation, management and evaluation institution of government business, and undertakes the tasks of planning, design, organization, implementation, management and evaluation. It is the first regional education research and development institution in China that is engaged in the research, development and application of regional education and serves the service support system of regional education in an all-round way. The Institute of Educational Development has four offices, namely, the Education Development Promotion Department, the Teachers' Professional Training Department, the Curriculum Teaching Research Department, the Information Technology Promotion Department and the Office. It undertakes the functions of "activating educational ideas, building a teaching staff, improving teaching quality and popularizing information technology" in the region, and has the advantages of "four in one" integration of scientific research, training, teaching research and information technology.
