"You have more than you realize" is the theme of Han Jiande's educational philosophy. He believes that everyone has more courage, strength, potential and conscience. He hopes to create an environment where people can understand and discover the truth, know themselves and know others without experiencing real hardships, self-doubt, boredom, ridicule and failure.
During World War II, the Germans attacked British ships with submarines at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Many people died because the sea was cold and far from the land. Later, it was found that a small number of crew members survived every such disaster, but strangely, it was not some young sailors who survived, but some relatively old sailors, so Han Jiande came to the conclusion that when the disaster came, the most critical factor that decided whether you could survive was not your physical quality, but your psychological quality. The old sailors experienced a lot, calmly analyzed the environment at that time, and finally got rid of the entanglement of bad luck with a firm belief in survival. And young sailors, when disaster comes, mental depression will lead to the total collapse of people's physiological defense, leading to physical decline, and the final result is death. 194 1 year, Han Jiande founded the first outward bound training school in Wales, aiming at cultivating young British seafarers' navigation skills and indomitable spirit in the face of difficulties. After the end of World War II, the function of this school also deteriorated. Later, some experts in organizational behavior were inspired by the training mode of this school. They believe that with the progress of society, many people and managers often encounter the same experience of falling into the sea when people enter the industrialized society. Faced with the fast-paced work atmosphere and complex social atmosphere, people in many societies tend to be conservative, anxious and depressed. More seriously, many people can't stand the pressure and will make extreme behaviors. These phenomena have brought huge losses to enterprises and individuals. Therefore, in Britain, schools with the aim of cultivating managers and business people, and cultivating managers' psychological adaptability and management skills have gradually formed.
From 65438 to 0960, the United States began to introduce the ideas and training methods of outward bound training, and cultivated students' perseverance through outdoor practice of mountains and seas.
197 1 American Jerry Pieh added some adventure courses to the traditional outward bound courses, which were designed and led by a group of coaches from outward bound training schools. Activities include games, rope netting and short-distance mountaineering. And received a three-year grant from the federal education bureau of the United States, called "Ritchie Training".
