Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine has two campuses, Xianlin Campus and Hanzhongmen Campus.

Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a national "double-class" construction university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine, a key construction university in Jiangsu Province and a high-level university in Jiangsu Province. It is the traditional medicine cooperation center of the World Health Organization (WHO), the international acupuncture training center determined by the Ministry of Health, the first batch of doctors and master's degree authorized units in China, the national key protection unit of ancient books, the national advanced education base for Chinese medicine teachers, the universities that implement the national high-level university graduate program, the universities that build the national "characteristic key discipline project", and the first batch of reform pilot universities of the national "excellent doctor (Chinese medicine) education and training plan". The National Experimental Zone for Innovative Talents Training Mode and the China Municipal Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Foreign Students in China are the founding members of the World-class University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Construction Alliance and the Yangtze River Delta Medical Education Alliance.
