Three articles are different from the old TOEFL. Candidates don't need to read the full text before answering the questions, but read the articles in sections during the process of doing the questions. Each article has 1 1 questions, all of which are multiple-choice questions. The length of the new generation of TOEFL reading articles is slightly longer than that of the old version. At this point, candidates can review and modify the submitted answers.
Second, Listening:
Cancel the short dialogue, which consists of two long campus situational dialogues and four classroom speeches, each of which is about 5 minutes. Because it is a computer test, candidates can't know the test questions before listening to the recorded materials. Candidates can take notes while listening. Candidates cannot review and modify the submitted answers. This part lasts about 50 minutes.
3. Speech: Incorporate TSE(TestofSpokenEnglish) into the new TOEFL. But compared with the current TSE, it has changed a lot. There are 6 questions in this section * * *, and the duration is about 20 minutes.
TOEFL listening consists of four speeches and two dialogues. The answer time is 60 minutes, and the total number of questions is 34. In the TOEFL listening section, the score of most correct answers is 1, and the score of some questions may be 2. When the score of the question is 1, all items must be answered correctly, and the question is considered to have got all the scores. When the score of the question is 2, for example, the question of three out of four must be answered correctly to get the full score; Choose two, and you can get 1 point.
After taking the new TOEFL test, candidates will receive a report indicating their overall English level and scores of individual language skills, and whether candidates have the skills needed to participate in academic study and succeed in English language environment. With the score report, the new TOEFL will provide a diagnosis report to explain which skills of candidates have reached the standard and which need to be improved, so that candidates themselves and teachers can understand the English language learning requirements of candidates.
The scores of the four skills in the report can enable teachers from different departments or majors to examine whether the applicants meet the requirements of their departments or majors for English skills. By comparing TOEFL scores of computer test, universities can compare candidates' new TOEFL scores with the current TOEFL scores of computer test, and set admission scores when they know the new TOEFL scores. Score reports will help universities make wise decisions and recruit the most qualified students.
