College was founded in 1993, formerly known as Liuyang Foreign Languages Institute; In 2002, Liuyang Campus with complete functions was built by Liu Yanghe Vocational Education Group. In 2005, the first higher vocational major-Business English was opened. In 2006, with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the record of the Ministry of Education, it was officially upgraded to an ordinary higher vocational college, running schools in Liuyang and Changsha. At present, the main campus has been moved to Changsha.
Second, the school conditions
The Liuyang Campus of the College covers an area of 185 mu, with a construction area of nearly 80,000 square meters. Teaching, training, living, services, culture and sports facilities are all available, which can accommodate 5,000 students.
In order to meet the ever-expanding educational demand and improve the ability of running a school in an all-round way, the College expropriated 683 mu of land in Wangcheng District of Changsha, with a total construction area of 5 1 10,000 square meters. After the completion of the new campus, it will become an ecological, garden and digital campus, and become the architectural benchmark of higher vocational colleges in our province.
The new campus will be divided into three groups:
The first group has a building area of 260,000 square meters, including the first and second teaching buildings, the science and technology incubation building, the student canteen, the library and the student apartment 1-3.
The second group 1.7 million square meters, including the third teaching building, foreign teachers' building, students' north canteen, students' apartments No.4-6, sports ground and elderly health management center (nursing training hospital).
The third group is 6,543,800 square meters, including indoor gymnasium, international training building, international student building and hotel management training building.
The first and second buildings will be delivered in September, and Changsha campus will move into the new campus at the end of July.
Third, the professional setting
The college focuses on foreign languages and aims to train foreign-related business service talents. There are English Department, Western Language Department, Eastern Language Department, Foreign Economic Management Department, Art Education Department, Information Science and Engineering Department, Nursing Department and Secondary Vocational Education Department. * * * There are 27 majors, which recruit students for the whole country 18 provinces and cities. The professional system of the college is divided into five sections: applied foreign languages, foreign-related economic management, foreign-related nursing, information technology and art education. Talent training mainly connects the national "Belt and Road" and Hunan's export-oriented economy. At present, the applied foreign language major has become a "fist product" with strong market attraction and social recognition. Foreign-related nursing specialty with famous professors and doctors in Xiangya Hospital as academic and management team has become a characteristic specialty widely welcomed by the market. In 20 18, the college added two majors, preschool education and midwifery, becoming the only higher vocational college in the province that offers both preschool education and midwifery majors. The approved majors such as big data technology and application, e-commerce technology, Internet of Things application technology, computer network technology, art design, music communication and rehabilitation technology of traditional Chinese medicine will be officially enrolled in the province for the first time.

The college has a sufficient number of teachers with reasonable structure and excellent quality. There are 465 faculty members, including 226 full-time teachers, of whom more than 35% have a master's degree or above, more than 45% are "double-qualified" teachers, and more than 20% have overseas study and work background.
