Chongqing Wanzhou District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, formerly known as Wanxian District Health and Epidemic Prevention Station in Sichuan Province, was founded in 1952. It has been renamed as Wanxian Health and Epidemic Prevention Station in Sichuan Province, Wanzhou Health and Epidemic Prevention Station in Chongqing Immigration Development Zone and Wanzhou Health and Epidemic Prevention Station in Chongqing. In 2002, the system reform abolished the health and epidemic prevention institutions and established the Wanzhou District Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Chongqing. At the same time, Wanzhou Sub-center of Chongqing Emergency Center for Disaster Relief and Disease Prevention, Wanzhou Sub-center of Chongqing Poisoning Control Center, Wanzhou Health Education Institute of Chongqing and Chongqing Three Gorges Health Inspection and Testing Center have also been established in our center.
