There is a saying that choice is more important than hard work. If the choice is wrong, it will be in vain. Our higher education rarely teaches college students how to make scientific and systematic choices. It is only responsible for imparting knowledge and technology and urging employment, but it is the choice that has the greatest influence on students' future destiny. In addition, college students' first choice is often full of irrationality, and even many students make immature choices about their boyfriends and girlfriends on key issues. Regarding the choice, it involves many aspects, but it should be sorted scientifically. For excellent students, I think the order of importance is: city, industry, and specific jobs. On the other hand, most students go to places with good jobs.
After 5- 10 years, I am fully capable of buying a house in any city in China and living a well-off life without lack of money. Life is 80 years old, and there are 50 good years to live until you are 30. Wages can go up and jobs can be changed, but once a city is selected, it is generally not easy to change, because it is a person's choice when you are single, and it is a family's choice after marriage. Most people basically decide to permanently settle in the city after three years, or rebuild all the original resources even if the family moves, which is relatively expensive. Generally speaking, there are three cities to choose from. The first is a first-tier city such as Beijing and Shanghai, the second is a second-tier city or region where my hometown is located, and the third is an area where industrial enterprises with interests and expertise are concentrated. These types of cities are closely related to people's values. Some people are very interested in the industry, so we should focus on the third type of cities. The law of attraction says: the focus is where the energy goes, and it is easy to develop in this area. However, there is a problem here. Are the fresh graduates really fully aware of an industry or are they really interested in it? Some people like comfortable life and harmonious interpersonal relationships, but they don't like too much pressure, so they choose the second city. In such a city, if you don't have high expectations for your career and your life is quite happy, I often envy such a life. But for outstanding students with aspirations, I think the first one, that is, first-tier cities, should be preferred. Of course, it doesn't mean that such people can't choose other cities, just considering that if the future development space is limited, their happiness will be reduced. The environment in first-tier cities is relatively fair. As we all know, especially in the north, the smaller the city, the smaller the space for personal development, and the more important the development of interpersonal relationship in the career. Real talents will have a wider use in a fair environment. In addition, when struggling to live a well-off life for several years, life in first-tier cities is relatively more colorful, cultural spare time is more, and people are more civilized. In addition, first-tier cities are developing rapidly. No matter from the administrative leadership of the country or the development of market economy, we should consider the high-quality resources of first-tier cities, such as Shanghai, the first Disney Park in the mainland. Of course, this is only one aspect. On the other hand, in the long run, most of our generation are only children. Which city do we live in? It is very likely that our parents will come to this city to support the elderly in the future. As we have a sense of family responsibility, we must consider these things. Of course, many people have said that in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, traffic jams are serious, travel is inconvenient, and house prices and rents are high. In fact, these problems are secondary to what I said earlier. Everything has its time, and only by grasping the main aspects can we make a better choice. In addition, in big cities, because cities are big, there are more choices. For example, if you don't like the city center, you can choose the near suburbs, and if you don't like the near suburbs, you can choose the far suburbs. The air quality in the center of Beijing is not good, but the air quality in the outer suburbs is very good and the scenery is very good, which is very suitable for health preservation. Unfortunately, many excellent students were frightened by the difficulties in Beijing and Shanghai. In the long run, these difficulties are nothing. But then again, if you are not very good and have no strong enterprises, perhaps first-tier cities are not the best choice. Many difficulties are temporary for excellent people, but for many ordinary people, many difficulties are really difficult. Another important aspect about the choice of a city is that the cultural atmosphere of the city is different from that of Shanghai, and the difference between the north and the south is not small. Can northerners adapt to the culture of the south? Do southerners adapt to the culture in the north? These are all things that need serious consideration.
After the city is selected, it is time to choose an industry, not a specific job. Choosing an industry should consider the degree of market demand (the standard is the price of talents), hobbies and their own professional expertise. Most students are looking for jobs according to their major, which is unscientific. If your major is not popular, the market doesn't need it, just because it is easy to find a job, then you have chosen the wrong line and made a big mistake, and you will have to pay a great price for changing it later. At present, the level of wages is only the external expression of creating value for enterprises, but people's development can never be led by wages. After the industry is selected, the next step is the job category, such as engineering major, which can do research and development, technical support, marketing, after-sales service, training and so on. There are many kinds of jobs, so it is very important to combine your hobbies and choose a job that will deal with people and money. From a short-term perspective of one or two years, the income gap of various jobs is not obvious, but after three or five years, many students have developed, and you will find that their development depends largely on their extensive network base and awareness of investment and financial management. So the job category is also very important, but it is easy to change if you make a mistake the first time. For example, many people used to do technology, but in a few years they will do marketing or management. Don't think too much about income, think more about the future, that is, the development prospect in five years, think more about your own shaping and upgrading, and your ability and comprehensive quality have been improved. You are a scarce resource in society or industry, and the market will give you a high price. The price of talents is determined according to the relationship between supply and demand.
In the eyes of many people, monopoly industries belong to good industries (such as civil servants, public teachers, state-owned enterprises, public hospitals and other institutions), and working in such industries belongs to good jobs, but I don't think so, because monopoly itself is a plunder of social wealth, or although these industries have created wealth, it can also be said that if there is no monopoly industry, but fair competition in the market, these industries will create more wealth for society. The biggest advantage of working in these places is that the income is higher than the pay, but on the whole, no one is motivated to develop. Because people's value can't be brought into full play with maximum efficiency in this system, such work can only solve the problem of food and clothing, but it can't meet the higher level of Maslow's five levels of needs. If you want to develop well, you should either start a second business or have a gray income.
Speaking of which, there is also a question of values. Do you want to live a rich life in the future? Or a happy life? These two relationships are very related, not antagonistic, but if I have to make an answer, then I choose a happy life without money, and I choose a happy and colorful life in Beijing. Another question is, do you want to earn more money or create more wealth for the society? Many people choose to earn money, but they don't create wealth for society. Where can they get the money? Therefore, your values should be based on the latter. Only by constantly thinking about creating wealth for society can society give you some wealth. If you choose according to this, you will find that many industries and jobs rarely create wealth for society. This is a very effective way of thinking.
