Brief introduction of CELTA (adult English teaching certificate) Certa has high language requirements, generally speaking, English is required as its mother tongue, or the language level is close to that of English as its mother tongue. For people with little or no teaching experience, Certa is their first qualification to enter the field of English teaching. CELTA certificate belongs to the advanced category of TESOL certificate system. It is not only a teacher's qualification certificate suitable for teaching adult English, but also an integral part of British continuing education teaching certificate and TESOL international English teacher's qualification certificate. Every year, more than 1000 people successfully complete the Certa course. At present, many institutions engaged in language teaching all over the world recognize CELTA certificate, which has been included in the national syllabus standard of Britain. There is no unified written graduation examination in Certa, and the whole course learning process is the process of assessing candidates. The examination of the course is conducted by trainers and examiners authorized by ESOL Examination Department of Cambridge University Examination Committee. The assessment results of students include the following two aspects:
Trial teaching
Candidates have to complete the six-hour teaching task and teach two classes with different language levels respectively. The evaluation results depend on the overall performance of the candidates in the six-hour teaching.
Teaching report
Candidates are required to complete four reports on adult learning, English language system, language skills and classroom teaching.
Candidates' scores are divided into three grades: pass, pass B and pass A.
