The Examination Center of the Ministry of Education cooperated with the Examination Committee of Cambridge University in the United Kingdom to hold the Business English Certificate Examination from 1993. This series of exams is a proficiency test. According to the actual needs of business work, the ability of candidates to use English in business and general living environment is comprehensively investigated from four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Those who pass the examination will receive the unified standard certificate issued by the examination Committee of Cambridge University. The certificate is valid for life.

The fundamental purpose of Cambridge Business English is not to take exams, but to evaluate the English ability of employees of international companies in non-English-speaking countries, and to examine whether employees are suitable for the upcoming work according to their performance deviations (listening, speaking, reading and writing).

The Examination Center of the Ministry of Education of China is the national education examination department in China, which is responsible for undertaking all kinds of national education examinations and entrusted by the Ministry of Education to handle all kinds of education examinations held by overseas institutions in China.

Business English Certificate Examination (BEC) is jointly organized by China and Britain. Cambridge University Examinations Committee is responsible for setting papers, marking papers and issuing certificates. China Ministry of Education Examination Center is responsible for registration, printing papers and organizing examinations.
