Adult education in Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine started at 1962, and the correspondence department of adult education in Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was approved to recruit correspondence students majoring in traditional Chinese medicine. 1983 with the approval of the provincial education commission, the former education department and correspondence department were merged into the training department. 1987 The school changed the training department into the adult education department. 1994 Adult Education College of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

It is the first secondary college of traditional Chinese medicine in China. At the end of 2008, the school was renamed as College of Continuing Education. The school is located in Meishan Road Campus, and all the teachers are teachers of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The college consists of party and government office, teaching management department, information management department, project training department and social training department.

According to the social and professional characteristics of adult education, the main modes of running schools are academic education, non-academic education, entrusted training and self-taught examination education. This college has more than 20 majors, including Chinese medicine, clinical medicine of Chinese and Western medicine, acupuncture and massage, pharmacy, Chinese medicine and nursing.
