Jingdezhen Ceramic University is a multi-disciplinary university named after ceramics. It is one of the first 365 and 438+0 independent undergraduate course art colleges in China, and one of the 94 universities that are qualified to recruit international students with China government scholarships. It is the first batch of participating institutions in the education and training plan for outstanding engineers of the Ministry of Education, the model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform of the Ministry of Education, and the training plan for Chinese intangible cultural heritage inheritors of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The school is known as the "Ceramic Huangpu".

The school started in China Ceramic School (located in Poyang, Jiangxi), 19 10. 19 12 was renamed as Jiangxi lirao ceramic school. 19 15 was renamed as Jiangxi second-class industrial school, and 19 16 set up a branch school in Jingdezhen. 1925 was renamed Jiangxi Liyao School. 1927 was renamed Jiangxi Ceramic School. 1934 moved to Jiujiang, Jiangxi, and changed its name to Jiujiang Ceramic Vocational School, Jiangxi. 1948 was upgraded to Jiangxi Ceramic Institute.

1952, Jingdezhen Ceramic Experimental Research Institute (now called China Institute of Light Industry Ceramics) was established through the adjustment of colleges and departments in national universities. Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute was approved by Jiangxi Provincial People's Committee in 1958, and was established as an undergraduate major on the basis of Jingdezhen Ceramic Art School, Jingdezhen Ceramic Workers' Technical School and Jiangxi Industrial Technology School. 1999 China institute of light industry ceramics merged into the school. 20 16 was renamed Jingdezhen Ceramic University.

By 2022, Jingdezhen Ceramic University ranked 294th in China University of Soft Science in 2022; In 2022, ABC ranked 253rd in the list of Chinese universities.
