Daba Town, Xingwen County, Sichuan Province (about 30 kilometers away from Xingwen County) is adjacent to Yunnan Province, with an area of 93.9 square kilometers and a population of 22,753. Jurisdiction 17 administrative villages and 3 neighborhood committees. Daba Town, with elegant environment, clear water and many caves, is an ideal place for giant salamanders to naturally breed and inhabit, and is known as the "hometown of giant salamanders". In 2002, Xingwen County built a research center for the protection and breeding of giant salamanders, covering an area of 10 mu, and adopted more than 30 rare white giant salamanders successively. These white giant salamanders are each about 20 cm long and weigh about 0.4 kg. These white giant salamanders are unique in the world at present, and have important scientific research and economic value from the perspective of studying new populations and genetic variation.

Relying on modern distance education, the party committee and government of Daba Town have built seedling demonstration bases and grape planting demonstration bases in Daba community on the basis of the original industries. Under the guidance of Daba Middle School, these two demonstration bases will make full use of distance education equipment and resources to provide technical support for the bases.
