The training time for ordinary seafarers is generally 4 months. Professional training must be conducted in a training institution with corresponding qualifications designated by the National Maritime Safety Administration, and the specific training place shall be contacted by the crew company with the training institution. To apply for an officer, you need to graduate from high school or have a high school education, and other conditions are the same as those of ordinary crew members. The training time is 2-3 years, and the national recognized junior college or technical secondary school degree in navigation is obtained. The training places are Dalian, Shanghai, Tianjin and other maritime universities or maritime vocational and technical colleges.

Seaman's card is a valid identity document for China seafarers to enter and leave the country, which is uniformly printed and issued by People's Republic of China (PRC) and China Maritime Safety Administration. This is a sailor's special passport.

Submit:

1. seaman's card application form;

2. Handle the examination and approval of crew certificate;

3. Crew Service Book and its copy (if necessary);

4. Valid identity documents and photocopies (only at the time of initial application);

5. Seafarer's health certificate (only at the time of initial application);

6. Legal and effective labor contract or management agreement and its copy;

7. The approval documents of political examination or the laws and administrative regulations issued by the public security organs do not provide proof that citizens are prohibited from leaving the country;

8. Competency certificate or certificate and its copy (if necessary);

9. Provide digital photos with specified specifications;

10. Certificate of entrustment, identity certificates of the principal and the principal and their copies (when entrusting).

When the crew changes the service unit, the crew certificate shall be recovered by the unit to which the original labor or personnel relationship belongs or excluded at the first time when it is mobilized, and shall be handed over to the Maritime Safety Administration for cancellation within 3 months.
