How to improve attendance

Zeng Xiangbiao, erudite department

The high attendance and turnover rate of students in our school has always been a difficult problem for us. School leaders and faculty members of various departments have also thought of many ways and made some efforts, but the effect is not good. Through the last class teacher training and group discussion, many reasons were analyzed and many suggestions and methods were put forward. After the meeting, I repeatedly thought about how to really attract students to the classroom, stay in the classroom and learn something in a down-to-earth manner. I thought it over and over again and summarized some ideas for your reference.

First of all, we should thoroughly reform the teaching methods.

It is an indisputable fact that students in our school generally have a poor learning foundation. Moreover, they have no habit of active learning and are tired of the teaching mode of preaching or indoctrination that was widely used in the past. It is also difficult to mobilize heuristics and make the classroom a backwater. Some even sleep in class and play with mobile phones, but they just don't want to go to class and don't understand. After a long time, I simply gave up and didn't even attend classes, but my IQ was not low. Therefore, the key to solving the problem is to reform teaching methods, concentrate students' attention and stimulate students' interest in class. In order to achieve this effect, I suggest adopting participatory, heuristic and intuitive teaching methods suitable for students in our school to organize classroom teaching. This requires teachers to carefully prepare and organize each class, so that students can become the protagonists of each class, and the teacher is only the director, so that every student can obey the director's baton and become a good bilateral interaction in the classroom. In this way, after a class, students feel relaxed, learn knowledge, feel that class is a kind of enjoyment, and feel that it is a pity to delay class.

In fact, we can compare the attendance rate of all practical and hands-on courses is much higher than that of theoretical courses. This shows that students still want to learn, as long as they are interested and feel useful, they will not give up. And boring and difficult theoretical courses are naturally less attended. If the theoretical courses and basic courses are organized vividly and easily, students are willing to attend classes.

Second, we must solve the problem of computer online games.

As far as our department is concerned, more than 80% of students in grade 07 have computers, and the proportion of students in grade 08 will reach about 80% after half a year. At present, 90% of students' computers are used for computer games and chatting. Many students don't go to bed on time at night, play late, and the teacher secretly plays after checking, resulting in getting up the next day or having no energy to study in class. This is one of the main reasons for the low attendance rate.

To solve this problem, there are the following measures, and comprehensive application should have certain effects.

1, carry out ideological education, discuss through theme class meetings, watch relevant educational films, and let students realize the harm of indulging in online games.

2. Carry out more class and club activities, study competitions, etc. Attract students' interests and hobbies to participate in activities and competitions, so as to get out of the misunderstanding.

3, give full play to the role of student cadres, strengthen night patrol and supervision before going to bed, to ensure that students have enough sleep and rest time at night.

4. Restrict students' computers with relevant management systems. (Our department will take measures soon)

Third, rational use of reward and punishment measures.

1. Establish scholarship system and scholarship fund. Students with excellent academic performance and excellent performance in various activities should be strongly praised and rewarded to create a good atmosphere for striving for Excellence. This can inspire and promote a large number of students to be proactive and make continuous progress.

2, increase the punishment for students who violate discipline, especially for students who are absent from school for no reason, and severely deal with students who are often absent from school and refuse to change their teaching. Those who meet the conditions for expulsion shall be expelled or transferred to prison for execution, and a deposit shall be paid.

3. For those who fail the exam or assessment, make-up exams must be implemented and appropriate make-up exam fees paid to attract students' attention.

Fourth, strengthen and improve logistics management services to improve students' satisfaction.

A large number of students and parents who enter our school do not necessarily have high expectations for learning. Some parents make it clear that sending their children to school only asks them not to learn badly. But there are higher requirements for school management and logistics services. Historically, in student forums, the most common problems are logistics support, such as dormitory, internet speed, maintenance, canteen hygiene prices and so on. These problems easily cause students to drop out of school, resulting in a high turnover rate. At the same time, students' dissatisfaction with logistics is easily opposed by schools and teachers. Many teachers come to work. He always thought that the teacher was cheating them and unwilling to cooperate.

In short, there are many reasons that affect the attendance rate, including teachers, students, managers and services. They are complementary and interrelated. And for different classes and different students, the specific situation is different. But in any case, it is a problem of people, and it is a problem of people's thoughts, consciousness and mentality. Only by facing the present situation correctly, having a positive working attitude and doing our work well with effective measures and appropriate methods, I believe that through a period of hard work, we can see results.
