How to grow spinach?
Spinach planting method: selecting varieties, selecting planting sites, accelerating germination of seeds and sowing.

First, choose varieties.

If you plant spinach, if you plant it in autumn, you can choose wrinkled and semi-wrinkled varieties. If you want it to grow fast, you can plant varieties with smooth leaves. If the leaves are smooth, they will grow upright, and the leaves will be light, so they can grow quickly.

If it is planted in summer, it is necessary to choose varieties with good heat resistance. Spinach seeds should also be full and insect-free, and damaged seeds should be removed. If the seeds are out of date, don't use them.

Second, choose the planting place.

When planting spinach, we should choose acidic soil with fertile soil and rich organic matter. Before planting, turn over the soil, and the depth of turning over the soil is about 25cm. Fertilization should also be carried out according to the fertility of the soil. An acre of land should be applied with 3000 kg of organic fertilizer, 25 kg of ammonium sulfate and 0/5 kg of potassium sulfate/kloc.

Third, the seeds germinate.

Before sowing, the seeds should be soaked in water for at least 12 hours, then stored at 4℃ for one day, and then placed at 20-25℃ to accelerate germination. After the seeds germinate, they can be sown. Generally speaking, if you sow in summer and autumn, you need to treat the seeds. Planting in spring and summer does not need to be treated, and it is generally planted directly.

Fourth, sow.

When sowing, plant the seeds in the planting pit with a depth of 1.3cm, and ensure the seed spacing of 5cm and the row spacing of about 20cm. After sowing, cover the seeds with soil, pat the soil, and then water it. The soil will be wet, and the buds will germinate in a week. If you sow in summer, you should build a sunshade net after sowing, otherwise too strong sunlight will hinder the growth and development of seeds.

Breeding mode

It is necessary to strictly select male and female plants with typical characteristics of this variety and good yield. The selection can be divided into three times: the first time at the peak of vegetative growth, all the plants that do not meet the standard are pulled out, and the second time at the absolute stamen bolting stage, there is no pollen transmission.

According to the height, spreading degree and leaf shape of plants, select plants with vigorous growth, large leaves and long vegetative growth period, and pull out all the remaining plants (including absolute male plants). For the third time, before the pistil blooms, all the male plants and inferior plants are pulled out except some male and female plants or bisexual plants.

When the selected female seeds change color and the stems and leaves become yellow stone, they can be harvested and mixed for seed collection. Identify and compare the characteristics of the offspring of the original species, and improve the species through re-mixed selection of the population. Further identify the typicality, high yield and consistency of its seeds, and breed a large number of original seeds for the original seed production field and production seeds in the next year.
