47% of consumers will change operators because of network security problems.
According to Nokia's research report, 47% of consumers around the world will change operators because of network security problems. In addition, 68% of online users are worried that the network they use will be threatened by security.
With the arrival of 5G, the network environment has become more complex, with wider bandwidth, faster speed, lower delay, more connections and flatter network architecture. These make security an indispensable part of the 5G network.
Giuseppe Targia said that the NFV/SDN technology adopted by 5G makes it impossible for the network to adopt centralized protection, equipment needs to be fully protected by itself, and security management needs to identify the types of hazards more intelligently, so security will become a must.
To this end, Nokia released the NetGuard Security Management Center, which can support operators to monitor and control the security systems of all suppliers deployed in their entire telecommunications network. Integrating the monitoring and configuration of different security systems into one platform can prevent security threats that independent security systems cannot detect.
Giuseppe Targia said that NetGuard can integrate all network security systems (regardless of vendors), monitor their security status, and manage security incidents, vulnerabilities, security policies and network access. By actively detecting security vulnerabilities and analyzing the correlation according to its internal database, we can find security threats in the network. Subsequently, the rule-based configurable decision engine can use the safety analysis results to trigger automatic corrective actions or help operators implement manual responses. The system can reduce the risk of network infrastructure being attacked by optimizing the configuration of security parameters.
Different from the vertical solution that specifically protects network elements, the Security Management Center provides a comprehensive view of the whole network. By correlating security events from different levels (usually isolated from each other) such as wireless access, transmission, core network and operation support, a wide range of security threats can be found and suppressed.
Network security will become a new gold mine for operators.
According to Nokia's report, 365,438+0% consumers are willing to pay for security, and even consumers are willing to pay 5% more for the safer use of networks and terminals.
At present, the security protection ability of mobile terminals such as mobile phones is weak, which also makes users more worried about security issues. According to Nokia, the cost of installing anti-virus software and other products on mobile terminals such as mobile phones is much lower than that of PCs. 87% of people will install anti-virus software on PC or notebook, and only 55% will install it on tablet. Only 43% of people will install it on personal mobile phones, which greatly increases the risk of users. To this end, users need manufacturers to provide them with security protection capabilities, and operators are undoubtedly one of the best choices.
Giuseppe Targia said that some operators in Canada have gained additional benefits by providing users with security protection services.
Giuseppe Targia said that the operator provides customers with communication+security services in the form of packages, thus gaining more benefits.
