The International Committee of the Red Cross is composed entirely of Swiss citizens and is protected and bound by Swiss laws. Its headquarters is in Geneva. Its highest authority is the annual plenary meeting, and the executive Committee leads the daily affairs during the closing of the meeting.
The purpose of the Committee is to do good in the war. According to the Geneva Convention, the Committee can act as a neutral group to protect and relieve war victims, accept accusations of violating humanitarian conventions, devote itself to improving and disseminating humanitarian conventions, and cooperate with relevant groups to train medical personnel and develop medical equipment.
The Red Cross Society of China was founded in Shanghai, 1904. Its predecessor was "Shanghai Branch of the World Red Cross". Since its establishment, it has been engaged in activities to rescue wounded soldiers, refugees and victims, and actively participated in humanitarian relief activities. After the founding of New China, 1950 negotiated the reorganization of China Red Cross Society. 1952, China red cross resumed its legal seat in the international red cross movement.
