First of all, consider the position you want to take after graduation. I am also a senior majoring in international trade. I have participated in many job fairs and talked about my feelings about the post:
International trade major, in fact, employment is also very extensive.
1. If you want to engage in the financial industry: you can consider taking the banking qualification certificate and then go to the bank for an interview. Or take the securities qualification certificate and go to a securities company. However, it seems that both of them have to start from the counter at the beginning, and they have to fill a certain amount of business to become full.
2. If your English is good and you are interested in trade, it is recommended to be a foreign trade salesman or an export post. Relevant certificates include export certificate, customs declaration certificate and CET-6 certificate. However, if you plan to apply for a large company, that is, a relatively large company, then the general career development track is internship-foreign trade assistant (including probation period)-foreign trade salesman. There is a process of development. But if you go to some small companies, that is, companies with small scale and few employees, you may be directly asked to be a foreign trade salesman. The difference between the two is that the former may have a process of training or old employees to take you, while the latter is a process of groping for yourself.
3. If you have good English and want to work in a foreign trade company, but want to find a stable job, it is recommended to be a witness or a merchandiser. The relevant certificates should be those of an international witness and merchandiser (I can't remember the full name). This position is to be slow and steady, which is equivalent to back office work. But the income is also stable, which may be the basic salary of around 2000 per month. Better units will get dividends at the end of the year.
If you have a good learning ability and a certain written English ability, you can also consider taking the exam as a customs broker. The examination fee is relatively low, 90 yuan. Customs declaration certificate is a certificate with high gold content. Generally speaking, if you have good English and a customs clearance certificate, it is easy to enter a foreign trade company. In addition, you can also work in the customs broker, with a salary of about 2500. This should be divided according to cities, and wages in some places are much higher. But this job is also relatively stable. But customs declaration is also a tedious job. And the exam is also a very complicated exam. Ha ha.
If your English is good and you don't want to join a foreign trade company, you can also consider going to a freight forwarder. Being a freight forwarder also requires English. Relevant certificates include freight forwarding certificate and English certificate. This is also a way out.
6. If you don't know English, but you still want to engage in the trading industry: This may be a bit difficult, because there is a threshold for English interview or written examination in foreign trade companies. If your English is not good, you may be tired.
7. If your English is not good, but you want to do sales, you can export it to domestic sales, hehe, that is, domestic sales. Marketing, sales ... and so on.
8. If you don't want to get involved in money, you can also switch to other jobs, such as clerks, such as human resources management, such as accounting.
Then, consider textual research.
If you want to do foreign trade, you must be good at English. If you can pass Band 6, you must pass it. If your score is high, try to get it. At present, the requirements of general enterprises for foreign trade personnel are all above level 6. In addition, some good enterprises, such as the top 100 enterprises in a certain place, sometimes ask you directly for a grade of six. I passed CET-4 and CET-6 directly in my sophomore year. I didn't review at all, I took the exam directly, and then I didn't retake it. Level 4 is 563. Level 6 has just passed 470. In fact, reviewing well is not a problem, and CET 550 or above is not a problem. But it's over, it's over. Because my English application ability is very strong, oral English is not a big problem. So at that time, if the interviewer gave me a chance to speak, I generally didn't have to look at the results of Band 4 and Band 6. However, after the interview, many times, you have more opportunities to submit your resume, which may be brushed off before you show yourself. So, these are stepping stones. Having the spare capacity to enter a good company can improve your English.
In addition, I recommend two certificates related to foreign trade: customs declaration and freight forwarding certificate. A certificate with high gold content. Actually, the export license is also good. If you want to do import and export business, you can also try this certificate
Customs declaration, in fact, you can pass by studying hard. Take out half the courage of the college entrance examination that year. It's a pity that I was lazy in college for four years and didn't review well and orderly. Finally, I am a little poor. This course is rather detailed and complicated, so you should review for the exam. Of course, improvisation is also very important, and some of them have not been reviewed much. At job fairs, sometimes, it will be listed that those with customs clearance certificates are preferred. In addition, if foreign trade fails in the future, switching to customs declaration is also a relatively stable industry with relatively fixed income. Around 2000, maybe more places are better. Relatively stable.
Freight forwarding certificate, now many students have graduated to work in freight forwarding companies, which is actually a branch direction of international trade specialty. People in the foreign trade industry say that if you want to go to a freight forwarder, it is better to go to a freight forwarder under a shipping company or a foreign shipping company. Maybe. If you want to do this, the freight forwarding certificate is a good bonus tool.
Documentary and documentary. In fact, these are all skills certificates. Teachers have different views on these documents. Some teachers think that after graduating from international trade major, they have the basic ability to make documents, so it doesn't matter whether they take the exam or not. This actually depends on whether you have spare capacity. If you feel empty, you can also take a test. The gold content is not particularly high. This certificate is also necessary if you plan to start with a document. If you are just a salesman, some units will give priority to obtaining the certificate of a witness when recruiting again. But most companies have not made it clear. Besides, document preparation is a basic skill, but it is not a necessary business category for salesmen. Most foreign trade companies will set up a separate documentation department.
Logistics certificate. This is what I saw someone ask on Baidu the other day. Personally, I still feel that if you don't plan to work in this field in the future, don't take the exam. This certificate is similar to the human resource management certificate, and it basically costs money.
Computer skills certificate:
In fact, everything in the province is a cloud. When recruiting, it is generally said that certain office software operation skills are needed. If there is any office software or office automation software application competition in your school, you can take part. Mainly to prove that your computer application ability is good. Do it. For a foreign trade worker, it is enough to know basic computer operation, especially office software. Everything else is just so-so
At present, after several job fairs, I probably found that the above certificates are more appropriate. Thirdly, emphasize the importance of English again. Because in foreign trade, English ability is often the threshold. We should not only improve our written expression ability (foreign trade correspondence), but also improve our spoken English.
During the interview, some units will ask you to have a written test and an English interview. The written test is generally about English foreign trade correspondence and China foreign trade practice. English foreign trade correspondence is to give you some English emails or some contract terms for you to translate. Foreign trade practice is to ask you, such as what is FOB, who is responsible for freight insurance CIF, and so on.
All in all. If you are still at school, you should make good arrangements for four years, and do well in English and computer in the first two years. Concentrate on the later professional skills exam. Be familiar with the examination time of each certificate and make arrangements.
If you are only a freshman now, you should first set a good goal, determine the line you want to enter, and determine the position you intend to do, such as freight forwarding, documentation, salesman or customs declaration. Then carry out targeted research. So, it makes sense. Instead of blind textual research.
