For a long time, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nanjing) has always attached great importance to technology development and research, and the investment in technology development and research has accounted for more than 20% of the hospital's total income for many years. At present, NCDRI has more than 40 technicians/kloc-0, mainly engaged in experimental research and evaluation of physical and chemical properties of cement raw materials, development and research of cement production technology and process control system, development and design of new cement technologies, new processes and special cement equipment, and development and research of automatic control software. Through the unremitting efforts of generations of scientific and technological personnel, the North Design Institute has achieved fruitful scientific research results.

NCDRI has successively developed the first double-rotor impact crusher, the first miniature steel forging pipe ball mill, the first roller press, the first roller mill, the first bulk cement loader, the first large grate cooler, the first pre-water pelletizing device, the first drying crusher, the first high-efficiency classifier and combined classifier, and the first pneumatic conveying system of Fuller pump. A number of software technologies have been developed, including the first set of automatic control distributed system for cement production, automatic control software for feeding raw materials at the bottom of raw meal homogenizing silo, automatic control software for raw material batching before grinding, and training software for operating system in central control room.

Promoting the large-scale development of cement industry equipment has achieved remarkable results. For example, NCDRI has developed φ6.2m×92m rotary kiln, φ 4.2 m×34m grate cooler, φ 5m× 10.5m raw mill (φ 5m× 10.5m tail mill with installed capacity of 6000kW) and φ 5m× 10.5m clinker. And 2025 and 2× 18 18 hammer crusher (limestone crushing capacity 1000t/h), impact type 1822 for crushing hard limestone and stacker-reclaimer (stacker DCS250- 16.5, capacity/. North China Institute has developed various cement production lines, especially in recent years, the cement production lines developed by North China Institute are1700t/day, 2,000t/day, 2,500t/day, 3,000t/day, 3,500t/day, 4,000t/day, 5,000t/day and 6,000t/day.

For a long time, North China Institute has completed more than 100 scientific research achievements, including 6 national invention patents and 12 national new and utility model patents. Among the development achievements, many technologies have reached the international advanced level, such as NC-SC double spouted furnace precalcining system, DCS system configuration and application software development, NC high-efficiency driven grate cooler, application of computer numerical simulation technology of gas-solid two-phase flow and reaction characteristics in new dry cement production technology development and engineering design, and burning cement clinker with anthracite as fuel. Numerical control three-channel pulverized coal combustion system, wet grinding and dry burning, waste heat power generation, white cement technology, comprehensive utilization of industrial waste phosphogypsum to produce cement and sulfuric acid, Supercem-QCX raw meal quality control system, improved multi-flow raw meal homogenizing silo -MF silo, vertical grinding system design and debugging application, concrete filled steel tube, prestressed concrete and prestressed steel structure have all reached the leading level in building materials industry.

NCDRI has won many awards for R&D projects. Among them, "Cement kiln preheating, pre-decomposition system integration optimization and engineering application" won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress, which is the highest national award won by China's cement industry so far. Others include: 16 R&D project won the provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress award; Eight engineering design softwares have won various awards issued by the state or industry, and so on.
