Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College was founded in 1983, formerly known as Zhejiang Tourism School. Approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Government in March 2000, formally established in June 2002 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, and passed the teaching qualification assessment of the Provincial Department of Education in June 2003, becoming the first higher tourism vocational college in China and the only independent public tourism college in Zhejiang Province, affiliated to the Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau.

The College is located on the Qiantang River, the "Mother River" in Zhejiang, with a planned campus area of 304 mu and a total construction area of 654.38+10,000 square meters. The architectural style full of gardens in the south of the Yangtze River and modern and complete education and teaching facilities complement each other and make each other interesting.

The college consists of eight secondary colleges (departments), including Hotel Management College, Travel Agency Management Department, Tourism Planning Department, Foreign Languages Department, Art Department, Basic Department, International Education College and Adult Education College, as well as a book and information center and a national vocational skill appraisal institute. There are tour guides, travel agency management, tourism management, hotel management, hotel engineering maintenance and management, human resource management, accounting, cooking technology and nutrition, scenic spot development and management, exhibition planning and management, tourism English, tourism Japanese, applied Korean, applied Russian, performing arts, tourism technology design and production, flight attendants and other majors 17. The college enrolls students nationwide, with more than 5,000 full-time students and more than 300 faculty members.

The college has a strong faculty and discipline system. At present, there are 156 teachers with middle and senior titles, 96 doctors and masters, members of the teaching steering committee of tourism vocational education of the Ministry of Education 1 person, young and middle-aged academic leaders of provincial universities 1 person, and 3 people trained in "New Century 1 talent project".
