The full name of Hanban is China International Chinese Proficiency Committee Office.

Hanban is an institution directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It aims to formulate principles, policies and development plans for the international promotion of Chinese, support educational institutions at all levels in various countries to carry out Chinese teaching, cooperate with universities and middle schools in many countries and regions, formulate standards for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and organize evaluation, develop and promote Chinese teaching materials, formulate qualification standards for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language and conduct training, send teachers and volunteers abroad to teach Chinese as a foreign language, and implement certification for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Formulate standards for the construction of teaching Chinese as a foreign language network, build relevant network platforms and provide resources, develop and popularize various Chinese as a foreign language examinations, and guide the headquarters of Confucius Institute in China to build Confucius Institutes.

Main functions:
