The college has three departments of machinery, electricity and rail transit, involving more than ten types of work in three major professional groups. On the basis of school-enterprise cooperation, the college implements the teaching mode of alternating work and study, action-oriented and internship, and adheres to integrated teaching and credit system management. The college is employment-oriented, emphasizes the cultivation of professional ability, and comprehensively improves the quality of education and teaching. In recent years, the employment rate and quality of graduates are among the best in similar colleges.

At present, the college is accelerating the construction of the "Golden Blue Collar" brand, and the teachers and students of the college are working hard for the sound and rapid development of the college and the establishment of a first-class technician college with full work enthusiasm and high spirit.

The school has full-time education for technicians, senior workers, intermediate workers, general secondary schools, correspondence adult education in colleges and universities, and staff training, and has opened 13 majors such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and rail transit engineering, mainly including numerical control technology, electromechanical integration, electrical technology, welding technology, railway rolling stock, urban rail transit rolling stock and urban rail transit operation management.

Since 2003, the school has changed from serving railway enterprises in a single direction to enrolling students for the society. Senior technicians were recruited from 2004, and technicians were recruited in 2006. In order to improve the school's social popularity and comprehensive competitiveness, the working idea of "promoting employment by quality, promoting enrollment by employment and promoting development by enrollment" was put forward, and the quality of students was continuously improved. Especially since 2005, the school and Shandong Swire Aircraft Engineering Co., Ltd. have jointly run schools to train students majoring in aircraft maintenance. Students' college entrance examination scores reached 500 points. Since 2009, the school has seized the historical opportunity of urban rail transit development, developed urban rail transit specialty, and trained urban rail locomotive drivers for Qingdao Metro and Wuxi Metro on 20 10, with the highest score of 550 for freshmen.

At the same time, the school also undertakes the training task of technical secondary school education for employees and retired military personnel of Jinan Railway Bureau. As the only locomotive driver training base in our province, it has trained the vice drivers, drivers and transportation managers of diesel locomotives, electric locomotives, rail cars and overhead contact line vehicles for railway enterprises inside and outside the province in the past four years. At present, 80% of the locomotive crew of Jinan Railway Bureau are graduates of our school, and most of the locomotive crew, vehicle maintenance personnel and transportation management personnel of local railways in Shandong Province are trained by our school.

According to the standard of building a first-class vocational college, the school has continuously increased investment in infrastructure and teaching equipment. We have purchased fully functional and technologically advanced training and exercise facilities. The purchased CNC machine tools, CNC milling machines, CNC machining centers, argon arc welding machines and general lathes are all the most advanced equipment, and the SS9 electric locomotive simulation driving training room integrating driving, fault diagnosis and treatment has been built. At present, the school has electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, railway vehicles, air conditioning and refrigeration, machining centers, CNC lathes, general lathes, multimedia classrooms, CNC machining simulation training rooms and electrical and electronic experiment training rooms, which meet the needs of teaching and training. Urban rail transit training equipment with an investment of100000 is under construction. The 6000 square meters training building has been put into use.

The school has made outstanding efforts in teaching, scientific research and teaching reform, and has independently compiled 23 "action-oriented" school-based textbooks that are suitable for students' reality and meet the production needs of enterprises, 7 of which have been officially published by Labor Press. The school actively participates in the enterprise's product production, technological innovation, equipment transformation, product development and other production activities, giving full play to the knowledge advantages of teachers and students. The school's scientific research project TXJ- 1 universal automatic monitoring and recording system for locomotive signals won the third prize of scientific and technological progress in Shandong Province in 2004.
