The Central Conservatory of Music, referred to as "Central Music", is located in the capital Beijing. Founded in 1949, the college is an institution of higher learning that trains high-level specialized music talents, directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), and is the only key construction institution among the "21/engineering" national art colleges.
The school was originally built in Qingmuguan 1940, Chongqing, and was demobilized in Nanjing after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. 1949 is a merger of the National Conservatory of Music (including kindergarten classes), the Music Department of the Northeast Lu Xun College of Literature and Art, the Music Department of the North China University College of Literature and Art, the Music Department of the National Peking Art Institute and the China Conservatory of Music in Shanghai and Hong Kong, located in Tianjin. It was officially renamed at the end of the same year, and the inauguration ceremony of 1950 was held in early summer. 1952 yenching university Music Department was merged in the adjustment of national universities. 1958 moved from Tianjin to Beijing. 1960 was identified as a national key institution of higher learning, and 1999 was listed as a national "21/project" key construction school. The school was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and was placed under the management of the Ministry of Education in 2000.
While inheriting China's music tradition and experience, the Central Conservatory of Music constantly absorbs the excellent music cultures of all countries and nationalities in the world, accommodates various academic forces with a broad mind, and maintains a strong vitality.
China Conservatory of Music, located in Beijing, is a comprehensive music college with the characteristics of traditional music education and research in China. It mainly trains professionals engaged in folk music performance, creation, theory and scientific research, as well as other music majors and music educators.
At the proposal of Premier Zhou Enlai, the school was established in 1964. 1973, the China Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music merged to form the Conservatory of Music of the Central May 7th Art Institute. 1980 in may, China conservatory of music resumed its organizational system.
