With the increase in the number of tourists to China and Thailand, various local security incidents have also increased. If you are in Thailand or have plans to go to Thailand, what should you do for security?
1. Follow the team safely.
Before joining the tour group, carefully read the itinerary, quotation and contract samples provided by the tour group agency and sign a formal contract. The travel agency's commitment shall be subject to written execution. After the contract is signed, both parties shall strictly perform the contract.
Don't panic when you leave the group in Thailand. Call Thailand Tourism Police at 1 155 (with Chinese service). The team leader of China should actively coordinate and take over the club to resolve disputes. Visitors should remember the name, telephone number and guide card number of the tour group. Once a dispute occurs, in accordance with the principle of "overseas disputes, domestic settlement", after returning to China, safeguard their legitimate rights and interests according to law.
2. Personal safety
The law and order in Thailand is generally good, but there will be wild or thieves on some sections. Pay attention to take good care of your belongings and valuables, hide your money, and bring less cash. Password protection of domestic credit cards is mostly ineffective overseas, so it is necessary to pay attention to the security and custody of credit cards.
Try not to use a handbag when you go out, and don't carry your bag on the edge outside the road. Go out as little as possible in the middle of the night and don't go to remote or complicated communities.
Keep copies or electronic versions of important documents such as ID cards and passports in advance. If property and documents are lost, report to the police immediately, obtain the filing certificate issued by relevant departments to apply for compensation, and go to the China Embassy in Thailand to reissue the documents.
3. Wading safety
There are many beach leisure projects in Thailand, and there are also many wading accidents such as snorkeling and swimming. Don't rely on water to be brave, don't go into the water where there are storms or undercurrents, don't go into the water in dangerous areas such as reefs (such as red flags and other warning signs), don't go into the water after drinking, and don't act alone. Swimming in the hotel swimming pool should be carried out during the opening hours when there are lifeguards.
Snorkeling requires simple training and proper use of equipment. Old people, patients with hypertension and heart disease (recessive) should not snorkel. If a companion dies or is injured by drowning, he should immediately ask the nearby lifeguard for help and call the police.
Highly toxic cephalopods have been found in Phuket, Pipi Island and Zhudao. In severe cases, their toxins may be fatal, so be careful when playing in the above sea areas.
4. Safety by boat
There are many shops on the coast of Thailand that provide sea motorboat rental and driving services. Before chartering a boat, be sure to ask about the motorboat insurance, the validity period of the insurance and the proportion of personal insurance. Check whether the motorboat has old injuries and take photos to leave a certificate; Read the charter party and sign it; Return the ship face to face and hand it over clearly.
A motorboat costs hundreds of thousands of baht. In case of scraping, please make reasonable compensation according to the contract and insurance clauses. Don't panic if you claim at a high price. First, communicate with the merchants through the tour guide. If the negotiation fails, call the Thai Tourism Police and ask the police to handle it, and quickly close the case through the Tourism Court (in Pataia and other coastal cities). Thailand has a black market for passports. Don't mortgage your passport when renting a boat to prevent it from being stolen.
When choosing a regular travel shipping company, you should ask whether to buy insurance and the scope of claims before signing up. When going out to sea by boat, you must obey the instructions of the staff, strictly abide by the safety requirements, and wear life jackets to prevent collision and injury. Don't go to sea when the weather is bad.
5. Driving safety
Thailand keeps the right rudder to the left, abides by traffic laws and refuses drunk driving and fatigue driving. Thailand's "motorcycles" are fast, passengers are not protected by helmets, and there are many motor vehicles. There are no traffic lights at some intersections, so you should slow down and drive carefully. Equipped with GPS map of Thailand, be familiar with the route in advance if necessary, and don't overtake and follow the car dangerously.
Be sure to buy local traffic safety insurance in Thailand, at least the most basic traffic compulsory insurance. This kind of insurance is available at the port of entry, but only for the injured, not for vehicles. Visitors are advised to appropriately increase the insurance level they have purchased.
Driving and renting a car (including motorcycles) in Thailand should hold an international driver's license or a local driver's license in Thailand. To apply for a driver's license in Thailand, you must have the legal right of residence in Thailand (permanent residence or short-term residence is acceptable, except for landing visa and tourist visa holders).
It does exist in Thailand that border officials allow drivers with China driver's licenses to drive into the country. However, driving in Thailand with a China driver's license is not protected by Thai law. In the event of a liability accident, the driver will bear the corresponding risks and responsibilities.
When renting a car, you should find a regular car rental company and ask about the terms of the car rental contract to ensure that the vehicle insurance is effective.
When taking a taxi, keep an eye on your carry-on luggage and write down the license plate and driver's license number to prevent it from being difficult to trace without evidence after the accident.
Safe diet
Thailand has high temperature all the year round, and its eating habits are different from those in China. Don't be greedy and drink too much. Eat in a regular restaurant to prevent unhealthy diet and diarrhea. Carry a convenient medicine box with you, and prepare common medicines such as Huoxiang Zhengqi water, antipyretics, band-aid and iodine. Patients with chronic diseases should take medicine with them.
