With the development of science and technology and the progress of medicine, the average life expectancy of people has been extended, so the aging of population is an inevitable result and a phenomenon all over the world. According to the standards of the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO), an aging society can be defined when the proportion of elderly people over 65 years old accounts for more than 7% of the total population.
The fifth population census 165438+ at the end of October, 2000 showed that the elderly population over 65 years old accounted for 6.96% of the total population, and the population over 60 years old accounted for 10.2% of the total population. According to international standards, all the above proportions have entered the elderly society, and aging has become an irreversible worldwide trend in 2 1 century.
The aging process in developed countries has lasted for decades, reaching 100 years. For example, it took 1 15 years for France, 60 years for the United States, and only 18 years for China (198 1- 1999) to enter an aging society, and it is aging.
By 20 14, the number of elderly people over 60 will reach 2100000, accounting for 15.5% of the total population, and nearly 40 million of the 2100000 people are disabled or semi-disabled.
For these people, long-term care is needed. Long-term care is a social service gradually separated from pension and medical care in western developed countries after World War II. Since the introduction of long-term care service, the cost of long-term care service in various countries has generally experienced a stage of rapid increase, among which the "cost disease" caused by rising labor costs is particularly obvious.
In order to solve this problem, in addition to the introduction of foreign workers, an important development trend in western countries is the non-institutionalization of nursing service supply, and the proportion of home and community nursing supply is rising. In order to solve the problems of low efficiency and high cost caused by direct government supply, since the 1980s, there has been a trend of long-term nursing supply among the people, from direct government supply to government purchase from the society.
Because the daily nursing service can not meet the needs of these disabled elderly people, their care is first attached to medical care and nursing services, and more life care and medical care expenses are mostly paid by the medical security fund. As a result, the medical insurance fund rose rapidly. Later, people realized that it is not cost-effective to pay special attention to the disabled elderly, because the independent elderly in the disabled materials (old-age care) service and medical service actually only need a small part of medical care.
The concept of long-term nursing began to appear in China's policy field of vision in recent ten years. Whether from the international experience or the actual needs of the elderly in China, home community nursing service is the main content of long-term nursing service. However, there are still many policy obstacles that hinder the supply of home and community care services. The most critical issue is the supply of community medical and health services. Long-term care needs the support of medical services, and medical resources are encouraged to enter the community. This is the task that our medical and health institutions need to complete, and it is also our social responsibility.
Relevant government departments and long-term care insurance managers should pay attention to the provision of nursing services within the family. Encourage and support family members to provide long-term care services. At present, the supporting policies of long-term care services in China (including long-term care insurance piloted in some places) pay little attention to home care.
The biggest advantage of institutional care is that it is easy to supervise and standardize. However, it is an unbearable burden for China's long-term care insurance fund, government finance and individuals to provide nursing services for nearly 50 million disabled and semi-disabled people who are mainly institutional nursing. Therefore, the country is vigorously developing the family service industry.
However, what we lack at present is an institution for training long-term nursing (that is, we often say that nursing workers). Many of our care workers are actually employees of domestic companies. They have never received formal training and have no idea how to take care of the disabled elderly. A 70-year-old relative of mine is ill in hospital. The nurse who took care of her said that the old man slept all afternoon, and his spirit was poor and he was afraid of death. As soon as I saw that ECG monitoring showed that the vital signs of the elderly were stable, I taught the nurses to look at the indicators on ECG monitoring.
In order to standardize the nursing industry and strengthen the skills training of nursing staff, our school and enterprises jointly organized, not only to create the brand of "Enshi Yue Yue", but also to create the brand of "Enshi Nursing". The former is a sunrise industry and the latter is a sunset industry. There is a great demand for nursing staff all over the world. As long as qualified and excellent nursing staff are trained, they can be exported to coastal cities and developed countries. Moreover, we Enshi people are hardworking, simple and caring, and have a particularly good reputation in this industry.
Today, we visited a welfare home with 600 beds in Wuhan. It is also a training institution for nursing workers. President Fan of the school is also a doctor, a visiting scholar at HKU, and a very emotional person. He told us that the students came here for teaching, experience, internship, training and employment. At first, many students felt that the service industry had some ideological burdens. So, the school song is just like you.
"We are all the same, the same kind.
To create a paradise for those in need, singing is the wing of singing hope.
All efforts are only because of the power of love, just like you. "
Listening to this song makes us cry. I can't take care of my own children and the elderly, but I have to take care of other people's homes. They created a paradise of love with love.
The first lesson students receive here is to actually experience the feeling of being a 70-year-old man. Wearing a wig with white hair and special glasses, you can only see a very vague point. Earplugs are stuck in your ears and you can't hear clearly. You wear heavy devices to restrict the movement of your back and legs, and you also wear gloves. Then, it is difficult to walk with crutches. On weekdays, I have no intuitive feelings about the physical discomfort of the elderly around me, so I can deeply understand their difficulties.
I took my parents to Beijing on National Day, and my mother fell down in the elevator. I was scared. I didn't expect my mother, who was only in her sixties, to age so quickly, and her physical strength was exhausted, and her balance and motor function declined. When people are old, their organs are declining, and life is very difficult. In fact, each of us will grow old. If we don't care about and respect the elderly today, we won't be taken care of by future generations and society tomorrow.
Nowadays, providing for the aged is a combination of artificial intelligence and people. Taking care of the elderly is a physical activity as well as a technical activity. Carers not only need strength, but also need to learn how to use equipment made for the elderly, such as wheelchairs and sports equipment. It is also necessary to install an air cushion bathtub on the bed to bathe the elderly. You must learn to play games first, and then teach the elderly to play, so as to prevent Alzheimer's disease. At the same time, help the disabled elderly to do rehabilitation exercises and give TCM health care guidance.
These all need training. Therefore, it should be a good thing for the benefit of the people to run a class to train nursing workers and the new moon. I hope we can make this training course colorful under the guidance of this nursing training center in Wuhan.
